“Wonderful Weekend break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014

We had a lovely clean, bright and spacious twin-bedded room and were able to bring our cycles round to the little garden for safe keeping. There were generous in-room facilities and use of fridge in adjoining breakfast room with fresh milk for drinks. Breakfasts were a treat - lots of fresh fruit and home made cakes as well as beautifully cooked hot options. Jan and Annie were very welcoming, with good advice about things to do in the area. They recommended places to eat, including the Lifeboat Inn, which is about 30 mins stroll round the point (quicker through the village and apparently very cheap by taxi!). The food there was excellent, with good local seafood specials at very reasonable prices and enormous quantities. It is possible to get small portions - important if you want to do justice to the Vincent Lodge breakfast and still be able to move! This is a great area for walking, cycling and especially bird- watching, with Pagham Harbour a short drive/cycle away. We managed to do all three in our long weekend visit, including a 25 mile cycle round trip to West Wittering along some beautiful, quiet country lanes. The only downside with cycling is having to travel along a section of the main Selsey Road to get to the quieter lanes to the north and west. Nevertheless we had a great weekend.

This is the definitely the place to stay in Selsey, for a truly warm and friendly welcome. We cannot fault this B&B for anything, the rooms are big, spotless and very very comfortable. As for the breakfast, the choice and portions were fantastic, felt afterwards like I would not have to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Only stayed one night but would definitely return should we ever be going down that way again.

Having never been to Selsey before, Jan at Vincent Lodge really made our 4 days a treat. The room was very clean, spacious with a roomy en-suite, and at breakfast the generous 'full English' was complemented with a range of muffins, breads, and the occasional pancake and other pastries.
The breakfast room and patio outside was left open to use by guests for the remainder of the day..a refrigerator being provided for their use...meaning it was fine to return with a fish and chip supper.
Located a couple of minutes walk to the shore, or to the unspoilt local High Street, gastro-pubs, restaurants and 'chippys' are really close by......no need to drive. Jan is a real local and therefore well able to help with what to do and where to eat.

Room Tip: Especially suited for a small family

We stayed here over the bank holiday on a nostalgic visit to Selsey, where I holidayed as a youth. This is a B&B as it should be - superb room, with bath and seperate shower. Good location for the sea and the town. Great additions such as homemade flapjacks with tea and coffee in the room!

And one of the best cooked breakfasts and spreads we've seen anywhere, in a lovely breakfast room seperate to the rest of the residence.

Can't recommend highly enough and will be back. Thanks Jan!

Breakfast was superb witg great choice for all tastes.

We would highly recomend it as a place to stay, and will go back again.

We spent one night at this lovely BB, and it was wonderful . The room was very warm and comfortable, and we realley liked having our own entrance to come and go without disturbing anyone. Anne and Jan made us very welcome, and gave us good local advice on pubs and restaurants, of which their was a good selection within easy walking distance( we liked the Neptune pub the best) Its only a few minutes walk to the sea, and we enjoyed a lovley sunset stroll. The breakfast was fantastic - enough to feed a small army, and we could nowwhere do it justice!I dont know how they cooked the mushrooms in our full English breakfast, but they were fab. All in all, a delightful stay.

We have just returned from two nights, with friends, in this lovely bed and breakfast in Selsey. It is a real gem that offers comfortable, clean and stylish accommodation, amazing breakfasts, and home made cakes, with hosts who go out of their way to ensure the warmest welcome. We had our own entrance, breakfast room that we were able to use in the evening if we wanted to and a pretty patio garden. We had a safe place to store our bikes, off road parking and a bus stop on the door step. The location is great, with easy access to the sea and town. Good bus service to Chichester every 15 minutes and with easy cycling and lovely walks, no need to get the car out. A really super B and B.

Room Tip: One double and one twin
