Have just got home from having a week in the South Downs, staying at the FOG. The FOG is perfect for two, and was a home from home. Lisa and her family were fantastic, providing homemade bread, fruit and refreshments and were so friendly and helpful, we couldn't have asked for more. We went to Thorpe Park, Isle of Wight and Brighton amongst other places on our holiday and will definitely be coming again. Excellent value for money and couldn't have asked for better hosts.
Studio type apartment above a double garage next to the owners farm house. Views to the front and overlooking a corn field from the rear window. Excellent power shower downstairs. Very compact kitchen up in the studio. Comfortable bed and lounge area with tv and free wifi. The very welcoming Lisa and Andy were outstanding. Lisa suppled us with some of her home made, bread, shortcake and other things, excellent. Farm shop with PYO a stroll away. No deposit was required and no inspections before leaving, other people with holiday lets should take notice. Lots of places to go around the coast and countryside. We will go there again that is for sure, hope there is a vacancy available,.
As you drive up to the fog you realise what a hidden gem this truly is ! Beautiful view and surroundings ! The accomdation is very clean and tastefully decorated ! The owner Lisa and her family are truly lovely people and very welcoming . My partner and I stayed here for 10 nights and we both loved it here .
We've just returned from a stay at the FOG near Steyning. It is a little flat above a garage on a pick your own farm tucked away behind some auction rooms. It is really a studio apartment and it has been decorated to be friendly and welcoming. Although it is small there is everything you need. The kitchen area has a table and chairs and there are several cooking appliances - microwave, an electric ring, and grill, toaster etc. and all the utensils you need for self catering.
The owners are really lovely, they are very welcoming and do all they can to make sure you have all you need. The views from the windows are over green fields, Chunctonbury Ring and the drive up to the house and flat. It is restful, peaceful and quiet.
If you like yoga you could go to the 'Yoga Garden' in Sullington, just a couple of miles away. The yoga is performed in yurts - which adds a bit of fun. There are lots of places to walk - the scenery in the area is really beautiful. We went to Parham House and the RSPB in Pullborough, Cissbury Ring, Petworth House, Prairie Gardens, Arundal and Brighton. Oh yes, and we went to the Roman Villa at Bignor - that area is really lovely too.
This self contained flat is situated in a quiet spot conveniently located for the best of West Sussex. There were three of us, our teenage son had a bed made up by the host. Newly decorated, compact and fantastic attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed our stay and recommend The Fog to any couple (or familyl of three) looking for a base to explore this fantastic part of England. The hosts could not be any more friendly or helpful. Thanks a million, can't wait to return.
