“Shhh my secret place”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

I shouldn't be writing a review on this place and dont wont it to become over crowded! This is a little piece of summer to me, set in a small village it serves meals and cream teas, with a lot of different cakes etc. Chickens, Geese and even a shetland pony and 2 collies adorn the grounds, which you can buy seed and feed the chickens etc. Small area for children and well behaved dogs on leads.
My only critisim would be tea a little weak for me, so I bring an extra tea bag! Only one toilet. But other than that I love it here.

“Left feeling disappointed!”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

Having wanted to visit this tea room for many years, did so couple of weeks ago in School holidays, only to find it shut on a Wednesday. I should have checked the web site! Made a another attempt today.... Tired and worn out... grubby..... sat inside as weather little on the fresh side, broken down double glazing all misted up didn't help towards the feeling of bit run down. My elderly mother in law had a large piece of dry fruit cake, whilst husband and I chose savoury, from again a tired looking board. It was very average, no care taken with presentation. Tea for 3 came in a worn out tea pot with chipped spout and milk in a dark brown jug with a crack in it, together with clinical white hospital cups. Sugar provided in takeaway strips, no quaint sugar bowl. Walked round garden to look at animals, grass cut very neatly, but spoilt by all the 'don't do this' 'dont do that' signs. Again, signs broken and paint peeling off, maybe end of season, but they are open all year round, so no excuses. There was a very sad looking little shop. On leaving, husband said "would have thought they sell eggs" My reply "they do, you just can't see them hidden on the less than appealing shelves". English Country Tea rooms this place is not! p.s make sure you have cash, no cards accepted!!

“A slice of English countryside”
Reviewed August 9, 2012 via mobile

The tea room in Wiston is set among beautifully kept gardens with a wide assortment of free-range animals in an adjoining paddock plus an avery with chirping birds in the corner.
It's a proper little slice of English countryside.
While the prices aren't unreasonable, it's worth noting that they do not accept card payments of any type, don't go unprepared (empty pockets) else itll be a visit that leaves you feeling hungry! Luckily we always keep "emergency parking" cash in the car which was ample to cover a couple of drinks and toasted sarnies! Was lovely to spend an afternoon in the sun there, not sure how it would have been had the weather been less favourable..
