Another lovely 3 night mid-week break in one of our favourite places to stay! A lovely warm welcome as always makes you feel like you're arriving home. A lovely clean room, wonderful breakfasts, relaxing, comfy warm beds and good value for money. Its always so sad to leave Glendale House, Keith and Sandra behind. We can't thank them enough for such a relaxing break.

On arrival me and my wife were made to feel at home straight away, not bad to say we were only staying for the night, the room was clean and comfortable,we came mainly for our wedding anniversary we booked for the steam train at grosmont which would have meant getting a taxi to the station, but keith kindly offered to take us which was very good of him,

The breakfast was served in the light and airy conservatory, giving a relaxed atmosphere at breakfast, the breakfast itself was varied plenty of choice and well cooked, all in all if we were to stay in B&B accommodation in this part of the world we would have no hesitation in coming to stay with Sandra and Keith at the Glendale

Have just got back after a fantastic few days staying at Glendale house. This was my 15th visit to the B&B and things just get better everytime! The place is spotless, not one piece of dust anywhere. The rooms are fantastic, the views are amazing and the owners Sandra & Keith can't do enough for you. The breakfasts are great and really set you up for the day, so much so that we saved a fortune not having to buy lunch. This place is definately the place to stay if you are planning a visit to the north Yorkshire moors and Goathland in particular. All ready planning our visit up next year and may even go up for a short winter break!

P.S If your planning on visiting York, Whitby or walking the rail trail be sure to ask Sandra or Keith for a copy of their treasure hunts for these areas because they really are great. We did the 199 Whitby steps and the Whitby harbour one and thoroughly enjoyed them both!

The Glendale is the most beautiful house with extremely welcoming hosts in Sandra and Keith Simmonds this couple could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible even taking us to the station in the evening where we had booked a meal. The house itself is spotlessly clean with all the added little extras our room was cosy comfortable and relaxing - we were welcomed with a pot of tea served in the conservatory overlooking the garden its here that the most delicious (hot) breakfast is served with Sandra chatting easily to guests it takes away those quiet awkward moments you get when you dont know the other guests deffinately be going back and would highly recommend this for break

As always a perfect stay at Glendale. This is our 7th stay at Glendale and it gets better each time. Warm and friendly, clean and cosy. Breakfast is superb and sets you up for the day, the choice is vast, from cereals to multi seeded bread. The full English is to a very high standard and you will not resist it again and again.
The rooms are to a very high standard and have all you require for your stay.
If you are looking for peace and quite, good food and a home from home feel Glendale is the place. The walks are outstanding, the steam trains will set you back to an era that you will enjoy, the station is a 5 minute walk from Glendale.
Location for all you 'Heartbeat' fans couldn't be better, situated in the heart of the Moors with easy access to Whitby and many surrounding site seeing locations.
Eating out - Whitby - if you love fish then the Magpie Cafe is the place, book or head there around 6pm otherwise you will queue (however, worth it). Day time lunch, light snack there's Sanders cafe in Whitby. if it's an evening meal then Spice 4 U in Pickering is well worth the 13 mile trip or In on the Moor local to Glendale serves a high standard meal.

Room Tip: Room 3 overlooks the village green
