Like many who take a trip back in time, expecting too much, disappointing.
£4 a pint! Having a laugh on that one.
Food was OK but nothing special.
Not even proper milk with the tea, but we was given some upon asking.
No atmosphere at all, I would have expected some 60's music but no.
Worth avoiding and going to the station or tea room instead.
This place must solely exist on tourists because if I lived there, I would go at all.

Unfortunately the whole town have not capitalised on the Harry Potter link either which would bring a fresh visitor stream.

Decided to have lunch at aidensfield arms but what a disapointment. The food was poor pulled pork or should I say pulled fat sandwich on stale bread. Drinks were very pricey to. Bar staff not enthusiastic no atmosphere. Toilets not clean and smelled. Glad we were only visiting for the day.

Residents of Gothland this pub lets your village down badly, the pub is souless with rude and misrebel staff, the landlord being the worst offender,it is such a shame this pub is dirty with disgusting toilets, have not eaten here as always visit the malyan spout so cannot comment, but if the flat warm beer is anythin to go by its aswel we haven,t,visted on a sunday night and was told at 10. 30. we could not have another drink unless we were residents, it was like being back in the 1960s,there is nothing like a nice warm welcome in a friendly village pub,but do not expect it here we have visited Goathland on several occasions and always had a poor experiance in this pub, would not bother going in to it again,it is such a shame but it tells you something when you get told the locals do not even go in here, they realy need to pick there game up as this pub trades on the back of Heartbeat, can only say the landlord is in the wrong trade, hospitable he is not!!!!

We stayed at the nearby station and ventured into this pub for a couple of meals as it was in walking distance.
We have a 9 year old son and we unaware that the hotel had a family room as we had come through the main pub entrance. Whilst my wife and the little fella waited for me to get some drinks and order some food we were told to go and sit in the family room in rather an abrupt manner.
It was clear that this place was living off its fame and was not really bothered with good service or food.
The two meals we had were bland, almost of microwave consistency and overpriced.
It was not the greatest experience we had during our stay in the area and indeed we preferred in the end to travel a bit further afield for bett food and better service and much better prices.

We visited here with friends via the steam railway. Considering the extra money that must be coming into this pub from all the Heartbeat nostalgia, it is very tatty. The pint of beer was not bad, but the toilets were dirty, tatty, smelly and there was no soap. Perhaps a little cleaning and pride in the place would not misplaced? I'm afraid that if you want a pint of beer in Goathland, then they have a bit of a captive audience.
