During a recent trip back to the UK my Australian partner was keen to visit a traditional English country pub. After looking at reviews of establishments in the area we decided to try The Milbank Arms. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff; we decided on a lovely bottle of red and secured a cosy spot by the open fire. The food menu has something for everyone, with the addition of a specials board. We finally decided on sharing the pate and fishcake as a starter, followed by the venison and pork stack. We both thought our food was delicious, fresh and homemade. The portions were very generous but we couldn't resist trying the chocolate cake for pudding, the perfect end to a lovely meal.
Friendly atmosphere, filled with locals. Would definitely recommend.
