If you want to be spoilt in luxury farmhouse accommodation then this is just your stop. Beautifully appointed rooms, excellent mattress, fine bedlinen, huge fluffy towels, fruit (even chocs in the fridge), spa bath, fourposter bed, White Co toiletries and up to date local and international magazines to enjoy as you sit on your window seat overlooking fields of sheep and highland cattle. Try to think of something Mrs Knox has missed for your comfort and you will be hard pressed to suggest anything. We were travelling north to Scotland from London and chose this area by the A1M and close to the A66 across the Pennines to Penrith and up the M6. We set off in the morning with a more than ample breakfast, piping hot and the tastiest mushrooms ever. We had music in the background, but discreet opera...how often do you find that! Nothing is spared here to make your experience a good one - whether over the one night, or as an extended stay in this beautiful countryside. And if peace, and quiet in this non-smoking environment is what you want, then look no further.

On arrival you are greeted by Patricia who provided a lovely afternoon tea complete with mothwatering home made cakes and biscuits.

The room was superb with a 4 poster bed and spectacular views of the countryside. There was fresh fruit and some delicious fudge in our room . The bathroom had a spa bath which was very relaxing.

Breakfast was varied and plentiful and cooked to perfection.

The location was beautiful and we saw a variety of crops, highland cattle ,sheep and a fox!

Patricia was very helpful recommending restaurants and local attrctions for us to visit

This friendly welcoming reaxing farmhouse is without question well worth a visit

From the warm welcome by the owner Patricia to the superb farm cooked breakfast.. Mill Close scores top marks in every department.
On arrival you are greeted by a lovely afternoon tea complete with home made cakes - delicious!!
The room we had complete with 4 poster and spa bath was so comfy and warm that I would not have minded spending all day there (My wife however reminded me we were on a schedule).
The views were wonderful and the location so quiet that the only noise you could hear on a night was the wonderful sound of... silence...
Breakfast was varied and plentiful. For hot breakfast only the finest ingredients cooked to perfection.
Otherwise home made melt in the mouth croissants and a choice of cereals, substantial breads
and lovely preserves were a wonderful alternative for the more figure concious.
Nothing was too much trouble for Patricia to ensure our stay was a relaxing and memorable experience.
If you need a 5 * place to stay in the Leyburn/Bedale area without the 5* price tag then this friendly welcoming cosy farmhouse is without question the place to be

This is a very rural B&B but easy to find with a satnav. The location is beautiful with a long drive up the farm past crops and highland cattle to arrive at a very attractive house. We saw plenty of wildlife including our first fox. We were met by Patricia and given a welcome cup of tea and home-made baking before being shown upstairs to a room with views of the countryside. There was fresh fruit in our room and some delicious fudge. The bathroom had a spa bath which was very relaxing. The first night Patricia recommended the Friars Head Akebar for dinner and the next day sent us to Fountains Abbey which was well worth a visit. Breakfast both days was superb. We were very impressed with everything about the Mill Close Farm B&B.

I stayed here on 14th september 2012 for 3 nights with my husband and my father-in-law. The beds were comfy, the spa bath was bubbly, the location was quiet and the surroundings were beautiful. Trisha is a great hostess so much so that we plan to go back later in the year. Fell in love with the highland cattle, the black sheep and elly the dog. Food was fab. Can't fault anything. 5* all round.

Had a fantastic stay, the bedrooms are first class with my view over the farm fields which is part of the B&B and would fit any 5 star hotel, the place is spotless, breakfast all home grown food and enough to last me the day. Very friendly and ideal lacation. Will visit again.

Peter

Room Tip: I had the room facing the front but as all the rooms have views over farm fields.

We stayed at Mill Close Farm while touring Yorkshire and The Dales. The accommodation was on a par with a first class hotel and the quality of service top notch. This is far from being an average Bed and Breakfast establishment as it sets a standard to which others should aim to achieve.
