What can I say, I stayed here with my hubby for my birthday and it was fabulous. Great food, great chat, stunning beer garden (total suntrap) and if your lucky you may even see Rob hovering the grass!!! Rob and Sara are great hosts and really couldn't do enough. You have to go there just to see Boo (the staffie) do her party tricks for you. What can I say about the food - excellent and would even give Man versus Food a run for his money!! Oh, and for the person that complained about the stair carpet - they're sorting it!!! Word of advice, if you are staying there for the night, park at Barclays Bank, just opposite the pub. Loved the experience and have even booked the in-laws in for a treat. Will definitely be seeing them again soon. F

Room Tip: Really doesn't matter - they're all good!!!!

Stayed in this lovely pub for two nights during the Yorkshire stage of the Tour de France. Traditional pub with very friendly landlady and landlord. Excellent range of real ales. Comfortable clean room full of character. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening, the breakfast served was of a high standard. Would highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights and liked everything about it. Friendly landlord & landlady moved in under 6 months ago and judging by previous reviews have successfully worked really hard to get it looking good. Agree, the stair carpet from outside was not pristine but that's all- it wasn't a disgrace and guess not a priority. The bedroom carpet, as everything else in there, was clean, up to date & bright with crisp, white bed linen. Fully tiled en suite shower/loo the same with lovely thick white towels. The pub is a wonderful blend of old and modern, serving a good pint and the food looked delicious in the busy restaurant area, although we ate out. Quality breakfast was plentiful & served prompt at our request, as we had to be up & out early. Nice, well kept beer garden and lack of on-site car parking not a problem due to safe, free market square spaces few yards away. The Three Coopers is also a great location in pretty Bedale for walking around pubs/bars/ restaurants at night. Bliss!

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Bedale then look no further than The Three Coopers on Emgate. Downstairs is a pub with a really traditional feel, wood and stone floors and two huge tropical fish tanks . Beer fans rate it's choice of real ales and the pleasant beer garden was busy with customers enjoying the sunshine. The food being served to customers when we checked in smelled delicious and looked very attractive. We can only vouch for the Sunday lunch (cooked by Rob) - delicious and in a choice of sizes to suit all appetites.

We stayed here for two nights during BAMfest (May 30- June 1) as we were managing the venue for the artists who were performing there over the weekend. We stayed in Room 4, a delightful double room tastefully decorated in black and white. The spacious shower room was beautifully decorated and my only criticism is that the extractor fan wasn't working, something which new landlady Sara promised to get fixed. The private entrance to the rooms was clean and well lit - no cigarette ends to be seen.

Sara and Rob ( and Becca the Staffie of course!) offer a very warm welcome, good food, pleasant and comfortable accommodation and great live music during BAMfest.

Give it a try - you won't be disappointed

Stumbled into the Three Coopers whilst looking for somewhere to watch the football on Saturday lunchtime. This is a proper, old fashioned pub. It does beer. Good beer. And a few other drinks for those who want a bit of variety. The staff and the locals are welcoming - they take you as they find you and expect you to do this same. There is nothing unecessary, like food or carpets or any ridiculous "theme". It is what a pub should be -a place to have a drink and meet friends, even if some of these friends you've never met before. One of the most pleasant couple of hours we've spent in a long time.

2 nights stay in a clean & very comfortable twin room. Due to leaving early one morning a breakfast "to go" was provided - thank you. Landlady & staff were all very pleasant. Full English breakfast on day 2 was good. Great value for money - I would stay here again without hesitation. I have taken the time to read some of the awful reviews on here and I can honestly say I truly do not understand some of the comments having stayed here myself

Stayed here for 2 nights in a twin with a work colleague. Booked before I read the latest trip advisor reviews and was somewhat apprehensive.......needn't have been, don't know where the reviewers stayed but it wasn't in our room! We received a warm welcome from the owner, who showed us to room 3 which was light, clean, and had everything we needed. Lots of coat hangers (unusual!), a tray of refreshments, nice bedding and the furniture looked new. The bathroom was very clean with a heated towel rail. Our first morning we had an early start and a packed 'takeaway' breakfast was provided for us without demur, on day two we had the full English and it was delicious. I would definitely visit here again, and for the price charged it was super value. Evening meals finish early but the Black Swan round the corner is nearby and reasonably priced.
