We were staying at the nearby Caravan Club site and visited the Old Hall Inn for a couple of meals.
The ambience was excellent! A typical country pub, with an open log fire that was very welcome as the weather was very cold. The iron cooking range makes an attractive feature in the bar area.
There did not appear to be any printed menus, but there were plenty of chalk boards detailing the food on offer.
We ate there on a couple of occasions, once at lunch and once for an evening meal. On both occasions the food was substantial and excellent!. I recommend the roast suckling pig, black pudding with apple sauce, all on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. This was washed down with a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord' ale.
We will definitely eat here again when back in the area.

Not a planned trip, but we will certainly return.
A very warm welcome, even though we arrived at 6pm the bar was busy with several people eating.
There was a good selection of Fish and Meat dishes, our food was well presented.

The quality of the food was excellent , and the prices were reasonable.
The food is certainly not Pub food.

Well worth a visit.

Well I've been here a few times in the past for a few beers, but only recently went for food. And I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. The food is far better than any 'pub food' and is bordering in been restaurant quality. The roast pork sandwich was simply beautiful, and I had the pork and black pudding pie, which was very rich, but very tasty and very well presented. The creme brûlée for desert was also excellent. If your in the area I would highly recommend eating here, and if the rooms are as good as the food I would recommend staying here as well. Lovely food, lovely surroundings.

We stayed at the Inn, after seeing it on the T.V. - we were very pleased the owners are very pleasant. It says best Pub food in Yorkshire, I'm sorry I would not call it Pub food, it was top class restaurant food - very enjoyable and plenty of choice. All freshly cooked. Our room was very warm, winter outside, in fact we didn't even need the heating. Bed comfortable, room spotless. Recommend staying here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Inn, but I believe the cottages are very good as well.

We booked the cottage after seeing 'Four in a Bed'. We weren't disappointed. We took our two English Setters, dog friendly place and in the pub too. Some glorious walks, easy to more difficult around the area. The cottage has everything you would need, central heating keeps cottage cosy but the log fire in evening is lovely. Good enclosed small garden with the cottage, safe and secure. The furnishings are lovely, very clean, well decorated and would suit all ages. Plenty of room for two adults and two big dogs. A very easy walk to Grassington, a lovely village with small independent shops, pubs and cafes. Lovely walks by the river down there too. Worth the time. The food in Old Hall is good, not expensive, plenty of room and dining options. We met some lovely people during our two night stay, I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break. We will be returning to try the rooms in the Inn for a night, they look good too.
