Stayed at the Worsley Arms on a Groupon deal hence my very good value rating. If I had paid full price I would have been a little disappointed. Downstairs is cosy with a country house feel and decor but I have to agree with many other reviews that the bedroom although clean with a very comfortable bed was in need of an update. The bathroom also needed some TLC - remove the flaking paint around the windows, put in windows that fit to stop the draft and get rid of the patches of mildew please! The location is ideal for a short break with many lovely places to visit only a short drive away. We ate in the hotel and found the food to be very good both breakfast and dinner. Would probably ask to upgrade to a superior room if staying again.

Food beyond compare, hospitality beyond compare, accommodation so comfortable, just want to move in. Could not speak highly enough of this little hotel on our doorstep, staff are outstanding and overall from the top to the bottom, management to cleaners and everyone inbetween, this is a place of outstanding quality

Stayed here for my nephews wedding reception this weekend, food and service were absolutely wonderful, top class, 5 star quality at a 3 star price. Really can't praise this venue highly enough, a fantastic wedding reception, my meal was one of the best I have ever eaten, everything top quality and cooked to perfection. Very busy weekend for the hotel but nothing phased them, kids running around all over the place, cosy little areas for you to sit without being seperated from the rest of the party, lovely coal fires everywhere, nothing was too much to ask for. Would highly recommend.

Our daughter was married on the 22nd of March this year (2013) in a nearby village ,,, we have passed the Worsley Arms several times ... and as it looked like a perfect venue for her reception ... we went to have a look . It was about this time last year so we new what to expect ... From the moment we arrived Tony welcomed us to the hotel we sat discussed everything re:- wedding breakfast, accommodation for our guests, packages for different types of weddings, the marquee in the gardens which are lovely ...... i think we made our decision more or less straight away ... One year later our daughter was married .... nothing was too much trouble the food was excellent ,,, the staff were friendly and professional, the rooms were clean and comfortable with everything you needed ... the real fires were lite which as it was a VERY cold day made all the difference there are little snugs in the hotel so if you dont want to be in the bars or the room where your entertainment is you can have a quiet area and not be apart from it all i can not praise it enough ..... so much so we are going back for a stay with our dogs in the near future
bev and phil cooper

Room Tip: we had a room in one of the cottages ideal if you take your dogs ........

On a last minute decision, I returned to the Worsley Arms which I had visited with my wife some years ago. Whilst it was welcoming and still full of character, the single room I had was austere with skimpy bedding. The bar is comfy and friendly but the offerings to vegetarians weren't good.
