“Top Tea & Scones”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

A lovely trip down memory lane. We didn't ask for much, just tea and scones for four, but they were duly delivered in a timely and charming manner. Very tasty too. The coal fire was roaring and the atmosphere most apposite.

Sadly disappointed by the "superior" room, less impressive than a poor b&b. Very tired, faulty window, that had obviouesly been faulty for at least two years, as descibed by previous review. Excellent food in restaurant.

“Cricketer's Bar good”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Lovely meal - upmarket pub meal. Food excellent but service slow. Don't like being asked if we want more drinks all the time while waiting for food. Also have a main hotel restaurant which is not cheap, but good.

“Great food, ambience and service!”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

We had a taste card which enabled us to eat almost two for one. The Worsley Arms staff treated us exactly the same as if we were paying full price. We couldn't fault the food (delicious and very well presented) OR the service. Definately worth a return visit. X

“Simply Scrumptious!”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

We stayed nearby in a cottage very recently and visited the Worsley Arms on a couple of occasions for afternoon tea/coffee. We ate in the cricketers bar on one night and can honestly say it was the best meal we have had in a long while. Staff were pleasant and friendly and couldn't do enough to make our meal more pleasant. Felt very at home here. Both of us had a lamb in mint gravy main meal and we were amazed at the size of lamb we were given. Definately worth the price we paid. Lamb was a delight, very tender and melted in the mouth. Deserts were simply scrumptious and mine was the best desert I have eaten in a long, long time. Praline sugar gateaux with passion fruit, chantilly cream and hazelnuts presented in the most perfect and pretty way. If I were in the area again I would most definately eat here again. The price of £49 for 2 course meal and wine was more than reasonable for the quality of food, fantastic service and idyllic location.
