“Affordable Luxury”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

If you fancy luxury beyond your typical B and B at affordable prices then go to Brickfields! Despite our brief stay my sister and I were made to feel really welcome by our hostess Sheila and we are keen to return with our families. We stayed in the Daisy twin room and it was extremely comfortable; the extra seating area made it more than the usual bedroom as does the separate area for making drinks which includes fridge, complimentary milk and bottled water. There was also wine glasses and corkscrew if you want to take your favourtite wine. It's this sort of attention to detail that makes Brickfields so special and much nicer than the usual complimentary tray. The bathroom with large walk in shower adds to the luxury and the rooms are set in a delightfully tranquil setting; as you watch the rabbits over the fields at dusk you might be miles away from a busy road but in fact you are on the main route through the North York Moors with the city of York and seaside Scarborough close to hand. Breakfast is a veritable feast and for veggies there's lovely fresh fruits and eggs of your choice with mushrooms and fresh tomatoes cooked by Sheila in her aga. We highly recommend it. This really is the place to stay for a relaxing getaway!

This was our first stay at Brickfields Farm and certainly won't be our last!! Although it was winter, it was lovely waking up in the mornings and looking out beyond the patio across the frosty fields. We would love to visit again in the spring and see all the sheep and lambs. Also in the summer and enjoy sitting out on the patio. The rooms are beautiful, with stylish decor, huge, comfortable beds and everything you need. They're not just a bedroom, more a suite. Lovely bathroom with lots of pampering supplies. A little touch of luxury. So much attention to detail.

Breakfast is served in the lovely conservatory adjoining the main farmhouse. The same lovely outlook as the bedrooms. You can watch the birds feeding and the guinea fowl and rabbits whilst you enjoy one of the best breakfasts.

Breakfast is a real feast, cooked for you by Sheila and brought to your table by Neil. They are a lovely couple and nothing is too much trouble. They go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay and even help you plan your days out in the lovely surrounding area.

All in all a fantastic place to stay, in a lovely tranquil setting yet withing easy reach of many interesting places and attractions.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this first class B & B and can't wait to visit again.

I stayed for the first time at Brickfields Farm B & B whilst on business and it was excellent. Every attention to detail was catered for even down to fresh milk being in the room fridge for a wonderful cup of tea in the morning. The rooms are simply stunning and are much more than bedrooms - you have your own seating area and a small kitchen area which is so useful. The beds are blissfully comfortable so you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. The rooms are quiet and you look out onto fields with sheep, quinea fowl and rabbits for company, so you can relax and enjoy.
Breakfasts also have amazing attention to detail with a wonderful fruit option, fresh coffee and that farmhouse breakfast with locally sourced ingredients. Oh yes and the owners Neil and Sheila are so friendly and accommodating they ensure your stay is top notch on every level.
Needless to say, I will be back and would give this place the highest recommendation for business or pleasure - you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: All the rooms have the same excellent attention to detail and quality - you can't go wrong!

I can only echo all the positives in other reviews. We had the Stable room, in the main building, and were extremely happy. Unlike so many (even good) b&b/hotels, every little detail had been thought of, with more than enough storage and ultra-comfortable. Touches we loved were the DVDs and magazines, robes, the cosy wrap in case of a chilly moment, and also the huge walk-in shower was really luxurious.

Breakfast was so good - almost too good! Even if you are stuffed with the fresh fruit, cereals and great platter of delicious bacon, sausages, mushrooms which accompany eggs of choice, do leave a little room so you can sample the delicious home-made marmalade.

The only tiny thing we didn't like was the very pot-holed drive up from the road - but that isn't something they can do anything about apparently as it's down to the water board.

Do try the Fox and Hounds at Sinnington for dinner while you are at Brickfields. Seriously good food.

Highly recommended.

Rooms are in the single storey former farm outbuildings - very spacious, with own small terrace looking on to farm land (sheep, guinea fowl and rabbits for company). Lovely bathroom with plenty of pampering toiletries. Comfortable bed with fascinating antique bedhead. Mini-kitchen area with sink and fridge very useful. Decor a bit 'pretty pretty' but not OTT. Breakfast at separate tables in the conservatory of the main house; endless tea, coffee and toast. Information about places to eat could give more detail about nature of each place. Highly recommend Helmsley - charming town with special shops. We also enjoyed Castle Howard and the Roman camps at Cawthorne - and very accessible for the moors.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Brickfields Farm, a surprise for my husband's 40th. What a lovely place, the rooms are stunning, very spacious with your own seating area, kitchenette and a beautiful bathroom. The hosts are really welcoming and the breakfasts are delicious (diet to follow!).
I would have no hesitation in recommending Brickfields Farm and we hope to return soon.

We just spent a night at Brickfields farm to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautifully renovated barn conversions, to be honest we hadnt read the reviews so it came as a total suprise to us. 5 star accomodation and our hosts couldnt have been more friendly and welcoming. I wish we could have stayed for another night. The breakfast in particular needs a special mention - excellent, and reccomended for a lovely relaxing break.
