I would like to describe the serviece begging with the rececption, they have welcomed us warmly, they took care of our luggages and explained breifly about the services available. Their room services availabe till 12 mid night only and they are helpful. What is really impressive is all the workers are Omanian Local which gives the guests good impression about the country itself and they are so modest. Lets move to the rooms, our room was nice it has tallboy for your dress with hangers, it has TV with several channels, the view of the room fantastic, it has also a balcony and table. you can set and enjoy looking at the sea and swimming pool. bathroom is good and has everything needed for taking shower. Golden Tulip Resort, Dibba is located on the shores of the East Coast of the Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman, just 60 kilometres north of Fujeirah, and only 120 kilometres, or less than two-hour drive from Dubai International Airport. The area is also renowened for its fascinating marine life, home to many exotic species of fish. The coral reefs off the coast offer divers and snorkelers the ultimate underwater experience. Enjoy adventurous excursions and activities such as dolphin watching, dhow cruise, scuba diving, fly fishing, canyoning, kayaking, rock climbing, and mountain safari, just to name a few. What I liked best is the calmness of the place and the room, what I liked least bout it the food, food is the worse this overthere, We have disappointed because the food was awful, I will rate it 0/10, I will not recommed the gusts to eat from the hotel, specially the arab and musilms guests because most of the food cooked with alcohole which is not acceptable for arab and musilms. Overall the place is nice except the food.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your experience from your recent stay with us at Golden Tulip Resort Dibba on TripAdvisor.

We are really pleased to read your comments about the services and facilities throughout your stay. And appreciate you admired the presence and dedication of our valuable Omani employees whom contribute to the overall standards, culture and heritage of our Resort and its idyllic surrounding.

It is unfortunate to hear that you experienced the quality of food to be disappointing. We have taken your feedback on board and will address this with our colleagues going forward.

In reference to your comment of food cooked with alcohol, we indeed offered a "live cooking station" during your stay. Whereby guests have the choice of their dish cooked to their liking, regular sautéed or flambéed.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor. We look forward to welcoming you again at Golden Tulip Resort Dibba.

Sincerely,

Duco E. de Vries
General Manager

We originally booked in to stay at the Golden Tulip in Dibba for 2 nights. Upon arriving and seeing the property we promptly changed our minds and only stayed for a night. At 700AED per night I am glad we reduced our stay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful but this did not make up for the terrible state of the rooms. The walls, mirrors and floor was dripping with water - due to the humidity. The bedding stunk of mould and the first TV we had in the room didn't work. After it was replaced the second one did not work either. There is only one restaurant - we decided to have dinner there. It was hugely disappointing. The buffet looked goof from far, but was far from good. When you are paying 90AED per person you don't expect the mash potato to be powdered.

Overall this was a bad experience and I would not recommend this hotel.

We were travelling around in the UAE and wanted to spend a night in Oman, so we ended up in a part of Oman which is just above Fujairah. We decided to spend the night in the Golden Tulip Dibba Resort.

On first thought the place looked quite deserted. Not so many visitors and the location wasn't also that good (there were even goats walking on the terrain of the hotel!!). When we were swimming in the pool, we were the only guests and we felt ourselves being in a American thriller movie with a deserted hotel...

The room was ok, not fancy or something, and already showed some cracks and bursts. The self service menu of the restaurant is absolutely aiming for western European customers, who don't want to taste any local cuisine.

So, not excellent, but certainly not bad. I'd go there next time.

A modern hotel situated just inside Oman so you have to cross a border checkpoint and show your passport or ID card. A visa is not required. The hotel is out of town so your own transport is advisable if staying for more than a short stay. Rooms were good size and clean with a balcony. We only stayed one night but the food was good for both the evening meal and breakfast. Do consider taking a Dow trip from Dibba port up the East cost of Oman. The hotel can arrange it and it is a very pleasant and relaxing day out. It cost 250 AED per person (Feb 2009). The hotel bill can be paid by card or in Oman Rials, AED Dirhams or US dollars. Ideal for a short stay but as it is fairly remote could be boring for a long holiday.

We visited the golden tupip just one month back, and it was one of the most terrible services that we had ever encountered from hoteliers.

Generally, hotels are service oriented, the managers are charming, if not grim, but not downright RUDE and ARROGANT and with a 'I DONT CARE- YOU CANT DO ANYTHING' attitude. The restaurant manager was the rudest person i have ever met.

Golden tulip dibba was the most disastrous end to a wonderful holiday. Im wrinting this only with respect to the staff. Someone should be intersted in taking down complaints- you cant just say- "go away (not even sorry) - we cant do anything- this is the way things are around here".

Other than that, the place is good, location was peaceful and hotel rooms are ok. SERVICE IS BAD!!!
