“Good location at the beach - western food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2014

Had a short visit to Langkawi this weekend, and was walking along the street looking for a place to lunch. As everything just looked empty and was not tempted to go there at all - I pulled up my phone and searched on Tripadvisors "Near By" restaruants. This one came up with good rating just in front of me, so this is how we chose the place.
The restaurant was nice looking - part of it at the sandy beach - part of it halfway inside on a real floor. ;-)
To my disappointment, the menu had all western type food - not really any locality food. I did the chicken wrap, which was ok, but small. Kids had hamburger which both were good.
If you are looking for non-local food, this is a very good place to go.

“Excellent dining by the beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

Many people walk up and down the main street at Pantai Cenang but it's actually along the beach that you will find the best places, and this is one of them! Great food, varied menu that combines western cuisine and Malaysian influence. Beautiful setting, with candles and the sand between your toes. So good we went twice during our 8 day stay in Langkawi.

“Great location on the beach”

Really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. Sitting and eating restaurant quality food with your feet ing the sand is great.food was good quality and a nice change from the usual curries. Nothing wrong with curries but good to change sometimes. Would definitely recommend for sunset dinner. I did have to distract the waiter from his phone though!

This was the best ever dinner I have had in a restaurant. it was perfectly cooked. we took all courses and they all were really well prepared. Service was really good. The location is perfect - right next to the beach. Even though the restaurant is more pricey then others, it is worth it! The food exceeds expectations! Really great!

“Not as it used to be”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2014 via mobile

We recently had dinner here , being our third visit in 3 years. On previous occasions the beef tenderloin was the stand out dish that made this restaurant special for me. Unfortunately this time they were out of stock so I ordered the rib eye steak. What a disappointment - the steak was very thin ( almost like a lunch time plat du jour steak in France or a minute steak ). It would have been no more than 150 grams. Having said that they had managed to cook it to the required medium rare and the sauce was tasty. My wife had the duck which she enjoyed , but it was not as good as the duck at La Sal or Priveledge.
We did try the tapas menu for lunch ( crab samosas , duck spring rolls and chicken satay ) which were delicious and good value.
I think that the French influence that used to be present ( foi gras and escargot steak ) are now missing , which is sad. However still a good option for sundowners and a very solid meal- especially if they have the tenderloin in stock.
