“Very nice view if you can get a table.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

On the beach front but obviously these are the first tables to go!
A busy evening but service was slow and the staff kept changing so little continuity, which was really obvious when one of the two entrees failed to appear, after 15 minutes wait from the time one plate arrived, it transpired that the kitchen had 'forgotten' it. The spring chicken was dry and the rib eye minute so, all in all, it did not live up to the hype.
Good mixed starter and good wine selection but that is about it, best part was only 6 Ringgit for a beer!

“Best steak in langkawi”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

I enjoyed a lovely diner with my girlfriend here. It was not crowded, the food en service was great and the view and sounds of waves were very nice. I would recommend this to anyone who visits Langkawi.

“Quiet beachside restaurant with a great view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014

Serves reasonably good western food. The service needs a bit of improvement though. They seem short staffed when I was there. If not for the location and view, it would just be an average restaurant

“Quality and unbeatable view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

A bit hidden from the main road. I have chosen the place just reading the menu outside and having a look at the entrance of the pub, which seems nice and warm.

You can sit at tables overlooking the sea, almost directly at the beach, if you book earlier or are lucky enough to find one free.

Suitable for a fine dinner for two. They have an adequate selection of white and red wines to choose from. And waiters who are professionals and attentive.

First you get some bread, oil and vinegar to dip it in (oil is of outstanding, superior quality to be in Asia), and unbelievably crispy, crunchy and fresh breadsticks. Very well. That’s the right way to get an Italian ready for dinner.

Starters for two: a nice tray with two scallops (excellent!), a small serving of fried squid (very nice), tuna carpaccio slices (pleasant), two croquettes with wasabi mayo (wasabi mayo is a winner!), and veggies. Nothing to complain about. At all. But the scallops are really number one!

Main course: a tuna steak and a seabass. Both remarkable. The sauce of the tuna steak, though a tad salty, is very good and complements well the taste of the fish.

All of this served with a nice, cold bottle of white Australian wine (Sauvignon Semillon), well taken care of by the waiter. In an ice bucket, and with glasses refilled when needed.

Price? When you eat and drink like this, it is ok to pay a bit more than the average for the island. Around 60 € for two persons. For me it is worth the money even without the location. Throw in the fact that you are sitting in the sunset in front of the seashore. Is it worth the money now?

By the way: the owner – I was told – is no more the old Italian owner, with whom a few guests had some issue. I guess the new one is Dutch. I say I guess because I haven’t met him. But the waiters are doing their job satisfactorily, so you don’t really need to meet the owner to get “that special touch”.

“Yum yum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

Been here twice and had good food and good service both time and in a very nice setting - we have worked out that the beach restaurants are a far nicer experience than the street restaurants.

Had duck with red cabbage and mash the first night and the cassata ice cream
Tempura fried squid, prawns and courgette then spring chicken - a poussin the second time - would recommend
