We reach at the resort around 8.30pm , so when we arrive we have to wait 15mins of the buggy service from the car park waiting area! Check-in was smooth, but no information given about the resort, asked for deposit then given the room key straight away to the room, pretty sad such a name HERITAGE RESORT should be more nice if the staff can explain things to do in the resort but nothing explanation given. Once enter to the room no toilet tissues, towel smell funny , room look tired. Went out for the dinner order fried noodle come with one piece of prawn not fresh. Staff very slow did not ask if the food was alright, The staff need to train basic of service!

Room Tip: Lake view is amazing!

Only Malaysians can destroy this kind of opportunity for tourist business. The place is not maintained at all and rooms/chalets have a bad mould issue. And.... No alcohol served there, is a Muslim place.

the lake is beautiful but the resort is not a resort. the room bedding was dirty with sand and insects. looked like it was never changed. The worst breakfast and waiters whom lauughed off guests complaints. they had stale pastries and watery butter and a muddy fish dish and NO eggs for breakfast. we were to afraid to try eating there for the rest of stay. so we went out of town to get food. No spa. No bar. its sad that such a beautiful resort has such bad management.

The hotel is simply awesome, with very friendly staff and clean room waiting for us. we were very surprise that with the room is so big and the bed is awesome to sleep.Like the nature surrounding. Able to relax totally.

Thing to improve will be the breakfast of the hotel, there are too little chioce to choose and wifi connection very slow.

Room Tip: - Request for room starting with 3xx (ex 301-310). More close to lobby. Do need to call for buggy se...

This must have been a first class resort 25 years ago. Today it looks like a team of young scoots found the resort abandonned last month and decided to reopen it without any sort of renovation.

High points:
- spectacular view
- almost empty. You'll have to big swimming pool to yourself
- smiling and dynamic staff

(Some of the many) Low points:
- most rooms do NOT have a view in the lake. We booked 2 room, a suite and a standard. The view from the suite room was obstructed by...our standard room! I kicked a fuss by was told nothing could be done as other rooms were full (which they certainly were not) and I booked through agoda.
- rooms are old and not functionnal. There was two aircon in the villa: one was broken, the other one was set on 20 degrees and could not be turned off (!).
- the patio leading to the lake from in front of our room blocked (it looked about to collapse and no renivation was under way).
- worst restaurant in my 2 weeks in malaysia. This hotel must have no supply chain manager as half of the ingredients were missing (without prior notice) on every dish we ordered. Things like tomato and even water were occasionnally unavailable! The food was appaling anyway, and there simply is no alternative to eating there.

Overall this was not a pleasant stay despite the great view. We truly felt like we were in the hands of joyful kids in a totally abandonned resort. Not recommended.

Room Tip: Dont expect too much of the view from your room.

Lake Kenyir resort is basically a nature lover's resort. There is not much else to do if youre not one. If you are, the resort showcases the best of Malaysian wildlife via a forest and man made lake. You can easily spot rare hornbills and othere exotic birds, insects such as butterflies. Also the surrounding artificial lake and forests are also an option for exploring, the lake in particular boasts of many different waterfalls through varying means of access.
We stayed in a chalet and it is spacious with a beautiful balcony that really makes you feel like youre inside a forest. I could just sit there all day and listen to the sounds. Relaxing and very peaceful. One time as I ventured out with my camera i even came face to face with a large female wild boar which was taking a siesta under the chalet. I was also able to take pictures of black hornbills around 200m from the room, i doubt that would be possible anywhere else in the world.
That said it is not so easy staying in the chalets as they are some distance from the clubhouse where everything is so if you are not inclined to hike up steep hills then you have to wait for the shuttle to come by which may take anywhere from 5 to 15 mins. Also variety of food is difficult as the town is a distance away from the hotel so if you dont like the hotel food you have limited options.
Overall as a nature lover and photographer i enjoyed my stay even though it rained cats and dogs for the majority of it. If not for that I would have definitely explored more of the place.

Dear Mpua66

Greetings from Lake Kenyir Resort, Taman Negara Terengganu.
Thank you so much for your positive and encouraging comments. Indeed, Lake Kenyir is a worth visit especially for those whom passionate in Nature. Kenyir is a home to many rare animals, birds, exotic insects and plants. Talking about the concept of the villas and its surroundings of the resort, steep hills may not suitable for senior citizen or handicap but we do have a few villas whereby offer less staircases. Our guest just need to inform us in advance upon confirmation of booking. Lastly, thank you so much for staying with us and look forward to welcome you back in future.

Best regards and have a nice day!

Though out of the way and difficult to reach except by Taxi, This resort is magnificent and is set in the heart of the rain forest overlooking the lake. Units need updating but the view from the lake front units makes you want to spend the day in your private balcony overlooking the lake.

Room Tip: Lake view units are a little more expensive but they are WORTH it.
