“Good Hotel, nice view”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

I spent 6 nights in Bella Vista resort and spa in my honey moon with my wife in a delux double room / sea view. resort is nice and calm, room size was not so big, but good for two persons socially if you are planning to hang out most of the day. the only annoying thing is that the hotel's policy is not to open the windows because they are afraid of the mosquitoes. room was clean and room service was good.
Resort location is nice, in Kuah city were you can go to many sites to visits and near the malls, eagle square, legenda park , Fiery to Penang city and many other places.
Breakfast was not so much variable , but it was good - eating with the sea view is wonderful :)
The resort is directly facing the sea, however it has not a beach so that you can go for a swim ( only the view of the sea ) and at night after the sunset every thing become calm in the resort ( no much activities to be done, may be internet surfing the lobby ).

Overall experience : it is a good hotel , value for money , nice and calm and it is location is very good.

Room Tip: Sea view room is very good

Firstly; the building. As my friend described it, the building was the love-child of Disneyland and a multi-story carpark. It has turrets, for sure, but seems to lack delivery on any other major aspect.

We chose a 2 bedroom suite, which was supposed to include 2 bedrooms and a living room; perfect for a group of friends. This was the main reason we chose this hotel above others. The "suite" was actually one bedroom with a plastic sofa with a doorway to a second bedroom without a sofa. Not magical.

The room was quite basic, but clean (with good bathrooms), though the hotel had an air of neglect about it. It was like a ghost town with very few other people in such a large complex. Our room neighbour left a finished room-service tray outside the room, where it left untouched (except the birds) for more than 48 hours before we complained and it was finally moved.

The pool area is fantastic, with a great infinity pool and a nice view of the sea, though beware the drinks prices. The "mojito" I payed $7 for (very high by Langkawi standards) was made with mint cordial and no limes. The breakfast was a great setting, but very basic (2* quality at best).

All in all, I can't recommend this hotel. There are better hotels for less money with friendlier service and with an atmosphere that doesn't feel as if Mickey Mouse was just found dead in the disabled parking...

The room is not too spacious, but is comfortable enough for two persons. The location is good for those like to go to Kuah Town for shopping. Food and meals are easy to get, as there are variety of restaurants nearby.

The view of the hotel is nice, but the beach is not for swimming.. I enjoyed having my breakfast at the hotel restaurant with that breathtaking scenery.

Rooms for improvement: Free Wifi at each room, the hotel lobby can be better, fix the broken lift faster!

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in a deluxe room. The room was extremely small and the king bed (two singles pushed together) made it even smaller. Barely enough room to move around and felt very clostrephobic. The service and management is absolutely terrible, the place seems to be run by teenagers and management doesn't seem at all present. On our first night we asked to hire scooters for the coming days only to be whsiked away by the bell boys trying to spruce us with booking tours through them and their friends which was extremely unprofessional. It took me approximately 15mins to get the point across that we had no intention to do any tours and we were happy to navigate our way through the island. On the second day we enquired how much an upgrade would cost us only to be told to take a seat as they would have to look up the information. After 20mins sitting there waiting and watching the three girls behind the counter socialise we decided it wasn't worth our time or money at this place any longer. This once again added to my frustations and became vdry evident that no one here is wanting to help anyone. On our final day we spoke to four different people asking what time checkout was. Everyone told us 12pm however we could remain in the room until 1pm without charge (100RM if you want to checkout after 1pm). Its sad to say but the reason we asked four people was because we didn't trust anyone however the last gentleman we spoke to advised he added a remark to our file. Low and behold 11am came and it felt like we were being shoved out the door. Phone calls, knocking on our door and even sending house keeping to clean our room all began from 11am all the way until we became to uncomfortable and decided to leave. Ontop of all this tje breakfast is pathetic and the wifi is very specific to the hotel (when it works). All in all, if you don't mind being treated like a number and don't have any intention to ask basic questions to the hotel I guess you can survive here a couple of nights however I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

For 2 night I'm here, this 3* hotel is reasonable for your money. When I arrived here, 2 Filipinos girl at the receptionist and I can smell this hotel will be great. They giving me room facing to the car park, what? There is no car parking there even at night. The bed is 2 single bed, again I'm alone & I more prefer queen bed but this room type only have single bed said the receptionist, he's so arrogant.
On the evening I went to their swimming pool, it not so big but it fine. The pool facing to the sea but you cannot go there at all only can see the sea only. If you swim at night, the water quite hot and it so nice to stay inside it. There are 1 staff who will stay there who providing the tower and taking care the pool as well.
The breakfast. There are nasi lemak or fried rice, bread, omelette egg, porridge, fruits and few more. Only 1 cereal, tea & coffee, orange juice and apple juice. You can enjoy the breakfast while see the seaview as it near to the pool also.

Room Tip: Get the room facing to the sea but you may need to pay extra for this.
