Just returned from a 2N3D weekend golfing break and would recommend to others. The biggest plus are the staff who are all friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds were in great condition, the pools clean and refreshing after a days golf. The beach was very clean and plenty of room although our preference was the pool side. We had two excellent evening meals at the beach restaurant. We played the Jack Nicklaus Sea View Course and was impressed with the layout and condition.....very well maintained. Also have to recommend my caddy Selvie who had great local knowledge and could club me in no problem. The only negative we could report is that the hotel is showing signs of wear & tear definitely needs a lick of paint. That said, the room was clean the bed comfy and the linen fresh. All in all we would visit again.

Room Tip: Request a Sea View in the East wing!

We stayed at the resort for 2ngts with our 22 months old daughter. To start with check in process at the reception took lot of time as they had many guests in the queue. Anyway after we were allotted a room we were welcomed by an opened television panel with wires dangling out and all the electrical sockets naked, the day bed had no mattress on it and the room had dead baby cockroaches on the floor, which means room wasn't even checked before handing over. Immediately we called the reception and we're made to wait for another 15 minutes with a howling baby who wanted to sleep . We were then ushered to floor no 4 to a room and we noticed it was smoking floor when we had made it very clear we wanted a strictly non smoking room. Again we're made to wait, the reason being they had rooms on non smoking room but were facing the beach. Anyways they gave us a room and we decide to just forget about it. Room was by no means luxury standard, bathrooms are old and doors are dirty. Bed had ants roaming on them and every 2hours you have to use the bygone spray which they had given in the room. Room service is bad ,they take wrong orders and take a long time. We only like their Japanese restaurant which was authentic but way too expensive at 95$ meal only for ordering 2 dishes and 2 juices. The guy at the main pool was not at all helpful, when we asked him to inflate our baby,s floating ring with a pump he told us to go to the other pool and get it yourself from there rather that saying I will get it for you sir attitude. Staff at the Kopi O is nice but the resort needs to learn a lot in terms of serving the customers. Not going back at all.

While opting for a quick break in Bintan we headed straight for Bintan Lagoon. It came highly recommended from friends and as we were traveling with a few we decided to give it a go.
My suggestion here is to manage you expectations before you go, the resort is grand and on a large site and if this is what you want then go for it. Be warned it is large estate and therefor lacks charm.
I found the staff not to be fantastic but yet available.
Food is ok, rooms are dated but again ok. Overall if you're looking for a quick break then go for it however long stays are not advised.

This is our 2nd trip to Bintan Lagoon Resort after 4 years with our kids now 5 and 7. Happy to say that we had a great time there as we did the last time round and the kids enjoyed it tremendously. Having their own private Jetty was definitely a BIG plus as we did not have to jostle for space with the rest of the travellers at Tg Pinang.

Would have given a 5 star rating if not for the clogged drain in the bathroom (which they fixed relatively quickly) and the so-so breakfast buffet (the fried dough that comes with the porridge was mouldy).

Will probably want to stay slightly longer than just 1 night the next time!

Last time I was in Bintan, I stayed at Angsana. This time wanted to try Bintan Lagoon thinking they were on par and on the upside this place had their own ferry terminal from Singapore. It was a very bad assumption on my end, as my entire stay was terrible. Staff is nice but not professional by any standard. It takes ages to get anything done. They forget your order. You ask for something which is on the menu and they say you can't have it because they were short staffed! Everything is very expensive. The wine menu is 80+ and for very cheap quality wines. Beach is overlooking at horrible ferry terminal and not enough seats to lay down and you end up on your towel on the sand. Not that anything is wrong with that, but if you book the place for the privilege of private beach you expect to have some shade to sit under at least. We wanted to leave immediately, but there was no room left in Angsana so had to stay. Instead of spending Saturday night there miserably, we went Pantai for dinner and had an amazing time, which cost is $48 for the cab ride!!! It was a bad experience for me overall and I will surely never be back.

Stay here for 2 nights recently for a getaway. The rooms are dated but ok. There is some sort of a "day bed" area inside the room but somehow there is no mattress on it but some rooms actually have them, very inconsistent I might add.

The food is also very expensive, and there is not much choices as well, had buffet lunch for 2 days, the food spread is not that good as well. But the smoothies are pretty good.

There are 2 swimming pools which is good, since it is a resort. The gym is pretty well equipped, there is a games room with limited games, some activities for kids, etc. Water sports, well you got to pay for it and too expensive too.

But the good thing is the resort has its own ferry and terminal so it is a jiffy to clear immigration, problem is there is not much sailing time out of there too.

There should be better resorts out there.

Room Tip: Probably the rooms facing the pool side is good. Those rooms actually have mattresses on their "...

Dear Houndy11,

Thank you for your review and comments.

On the day bed the rooms with the futon mattresses are sea view side, I have ordered new Futon mattresses for our deluxe rooms category to address the inconsistency issue you mentioned.

On our food menus we have just re launched Haskell's Café (golf club) with Indian, Indonesian and Western Menu, I am pleased you liked our smoothies. We do have Rice Restaurant by the beach, and Italian/Mediterranean, and Japanese restaurant all offer ala-carte options in addition to the buffet in Kopi - o restaurant.

We are proud of our large pool complex, one with swim up bar and I am pleased you liked them, and the gym, We offer a wide selection of the activities which are combined with free and paid through the recreation centre, and then our seas sports is third party operator.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the resort in the near future.

Regards
