“Good but high priced!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

Just returned from this place after staying here for a 2D/1N stay at pool cottage.Had a mixed experience since I had booked it through goibibo.com at the last minute,I just have the feeling that I was charged more for the stay.Place is nice and the complete setup is beautiful with good green garden,a beautiful pool and the vast private beach. The entire staff was co-operative and even the front office staff were good and supportive.I have complaint's regarding the food. The complimentary breakfast was okay sort of and nothing special for the amount they have charged. The restaurant area is clean and huge but I was taken aback seeing the Menu-tariff list. Its very expensive considering the star rating of the resort. We had both our lunch & dinner at a place very nearby called" tangies joint, fatrade".I would also advice my review readers to go for the AP plan at this place and have food elsewhere.I came to know from other fellow traveller's at this place that there was nothing special about their buffet lunch & dinner.A walk on their beach in the morning is an activity not to be missed.I just think that for the amount they are charging they need to have atleast complimentary activities like a boat ride on a beach or some beach activity.Overall I liked this place but would think twice before planning once again since I am sure I have many good places in close proximity were I would be offered more for the same package.Way to go varaca palms!!

This is a reasonably medium size resort at Varca. It has cottage style rooms. I also found that they have regular rooms in small building near the reception. The room that I got was one of the premium rooms they have. It was small and cozy. Good enough for 1 or 2 people. The swimming pool was right in front. The restaurant was pretty close from the room. A small walk would take you to the beach. There are couple of shacks on beach close to the resort. The restaurant serves decent food. I ordered food couple of times in the room and it was reasonably good. The resort is quiet away from the main road so you'll have to depend on some vehicle to go out. There's nothing on the road till you come out on the main road that's bit far from main gate of the resort. So that's the only disadvantage. Therefore it's a nice place if you want to relax and spend time in resort or beach. Like all hotels in goa they also have taxi drivers seating at the gate who have fixed rates. Some of them are pretty arrogant to Indian guests if you try to bargain. I have been to goa many times and most of the times i experience that people here behave very different when they are dealing with indian tourists. They are more interested in foreigners. I could manage to convince a guy and got a reasonable deal. But overall they charge too much. I really don't understand why government is not doing something about this.
The spa is also very good.
The housekeeping was very prompt and kept my room clean and welcoming every day.

Room Tip: Would definitely suggest the rooms near the pool. They are very conveniently located.

Highlight of the place is the private beach and place itself. Good setup by the beach to take rest and play. Rooms are not that good this can be adjusted for the beach and location. This resort is kind of isolated from the main city margoa, we need to hire a car/bike and then go the resort, hiring cab everytime to go out will be damn costly. Restaurant is food is good sometimes, why is said sometimes is because food tastes different everytime you order a dish, sometime it is really good and sometime it is really bad. One should consider visiting the Palolem Beach down south.

I reached Madgaon station at 9 pm and the taxi asked Rs.500 to take me to Varca !! I cant believe that for a journey of 20-25 mins,it can be so costly. Later as I enter the resort on a late Sunday evening, there is hardly any visitor or staff around and the place appears to be almost vacant.I checked in my room, got fresh and was intimated that dinner closes at 10.30 sharp.I casually strolled to the dinning hall nearly half a km away from the hut where I was put up n was about to resign to my fate of attending another office programme the next day morning,in a dull and routine resort. The surrounding was lightly lit and one can see vast darkness ahead with lights of dinning hal shinning distance away.I was walking towards the hall when suddenly I heard some waves crashing nearby and sounds of water splashing ashore;I looked straight as I walked towards the origin;beads of sparkling gobbles became visible to me as I approached a totally private and vast beach. It looked as if the Arabian Sea welcomed me with swinging ovation of waves crowned with phosphorus starlets that sparkled in the night and extended the mood of riviera.
WELCOME to the Beach VARCA !!!

Room Tip: All huts are well located ,but depending on your choice one can choose rooms nearer to the swimming...

Location - Bang on the Varca beach, Away from crowds ; Beautiful Clean Beach, Direct access.
Resort - Nice comfy villa ( 1 room actually), large grounds to walk, Nice pool , excellent restaurant.
Staff - Mr.Nani at reception very helpful, staff relatively good, non-intrusive.
room - Villa was actually a room, but spacious enough for us and our 2 kids, with an extra bed.
Restaurant - excellent ; For best experience, do not take an all- meals package, just breakfast. Then you can order from their menu and savour different varieties of food. Else you'll be stuck with their fixed menu.
Grounds - wonderful;walking is a bliss, either on the grounds or on the beach;
Overall - Go if you just want to Chill , relax 'n enjoy the water, sun and sand, and food; It's far from the city, so choose another resort if you want to explore the city, as Taxi very expensive.

South Goa is much better I feel for a stay, I visited a few beaches in North and they were so crowded. A/C rooms are a must in May & so is a A/C car. This is a secluded area so you won't be able to visit nearby areas w/o a car. The food is excellent. The service is good. The swimming pool is pretty cool. a-la-carte is expensive so take a package deal with all meals. Night hours are lovely with cool lights around. It was a great experience being here, the only problem being that we were far from any markets or local places to walk to, car was a must. I wanted more sea-food in the buffe but u get sea food online in dinner, i guess they have to cater to all sort of guests so. Overall great experience.

We with friends have decided to rest.
Near the beach , a swimming pool clean and tidy.
To the centre only 10 minutes drive also you can
call a taxi which by the way are not in all hotels.
We liked it very much and want to go there yet.
