Its very close to Palakkad town. Lovely view from the dam. The cable car ride is fun. The drive around the reservoir is relaxing and fun with great views.

The fountains, the sculptures and the arrangement of the garden are stunning. The sculpture of the bare bodied Yakshi (demon) by the famous sculpturist (Kanayi Kujiraman) is one huge and welcoming figure at the entrance. The rose garden with over 100 species of roses is a rare sight. Great spot for picnic and a day's visit. The garden is only 14-kms from Palakkad City.

This place kind of grows on you. Spent a lot of days and evenings here as a child along with my family as well as with friends . Its a good place to visit if you are from in and around the district. I wouldn't suggest this as a place to visit if you are to visit one place in Palakkad and are from far away . If you are visiting from far away place my suggeston would be to keep this as one of the few stops along the way in your holiday .

NIce place to visit on a one day picnic if you live within 200 kms of palakad or if you are a passerby traveller touring kerala /coimbatore region. No reason to come exclusively for this palce beyond this distance. The kids play area is good, maintenance is ok, but there is scope for improvement. Climate is not very cool, so pls plan ur timing accordingly. If u r coming via Palakad, finish your food at few good restaurants you find enroute as the food at the park is average. BUt there is a KTDC hotel which is good but u have to locate it as it is bit hidden on a mound. Overall worth the time and money spent if u fall in the criteria mentioned at the beginning of this review.
