Its difficult to explain the place and the essence lies in experiencing it.Calling it just a place to stay would be highly incorrect. Ideally recommended for people seeking divine solitude and enjoyment in the lap of nature.Credit must be given to its keepers Mr.Shahul and Mrs Sandrine for preserving this place isolated from materialistic and social pollutants.Nothing can be more rejuvinating than waking up to the chirping of birds and occasional rustling of leaves...the only impediments to this silent place. Not recommended for the conventional tourists looking for a so called lavish vacation expecting some hotel like facilities. Also not for the party animals who are looking for loud ways of enjoyment...which will be more of disturbance of tranquility of this wonderful place.

A wonderful place to reconnect with the quiet authentic way of life that Kerala has to offer. On thé outskirts of Coimbatore in thé midst of rivers & valleys is this calm haven that Shahul & Sandrine has to offer. The accommodation is rustic & comfortable. The food is amazing with getting 5 stars for his tasty cuisine.(Indian as well as a few western dishes offered) The yoga classes were inspiring & taught by Sandrine There are a few walk/hikes accessable from Tranqilandia. And my favourite was walking to thé river, meditating & observing thé tribal Indian woman collecting water. An awesome place to reconnect with nature & to share in the company an amazing muticultural couple Shahul (Indian), Sandrine(French) & baby Mia.
This is also a non- smoking & no alcohol accommadation.

As a creative person I seek inspiration to make my work heart felt and possible. Less than a year ago I discovered the healing surroundings of Tranquilandia. Sandrine and Shahul could not be the more perfect hosts, bringing together Indo/French hospitality, amazing food, knowledge and warmth to what was to become an incredible stay. Whether it be discovering nature, adventure or yoga and botany, this couple and their fantastic ethos on life will help to awaken the senses! I am constantly battling with my schedule to arrange a time to return to this magical place - I'd highly recommend a visit. I can't wait to return to Tranquilandia to reignite my soul!

It was a unique experience amongst all our travels. This place is truly magical, surrounded by mountains and full of cool breeze. You will forget all your tiredness in getting there from Coimbatore once you step into this beautiful home and meet with it's wonderful hosts. Shahul and Sandrine are a great combination in making this a memorable trip for you. The night was the most unforgettable of all - it was complete tranquility! It was one of the most peaceful sleeps we ever had. Early morning we all went for a hiking to the nearby village. The journey was wonderful, crossing a stream and row of hills and bushes until we finally reached the next village. We talked to the village chief and got to know a great deal about their lives. Here were a bunch of people who were living in perfect harmony with nature and who were happy and contended in their lives..This was a totally new experience for us.
A special mention should be made about the culinary skills of our hosts - it was an absolute treat to our taste buds. It was authentic Kerala style cooking with the delicious fishy curry, prawns, vegetables with rice and chappathis! The best part was that you felt so much at home with this place that you will forget it was a vacation.
We also had wonderful conversations exchanging our views.
If you are looking for a calm and quiet place, far away from the maddening cities, if you want to experience something unique, this place should be on the top of your list.
