Lovely sheesh mahal inside, and interesting place for a short visit. You can walk up the long hill, ride an elephant (who takes a group up in an uncomfortable heavy wooden box on its back, not comfortable for you and worse for the elephant) or you can take a car up the back road to the top and just walk in. Lots of people trying to sell you things. The many "guides" you encounter are all in cahoots with shops and will try to take you places to buy things -- avoid going to stores with them. There might be official guides at the site itself, but all the guides outside are scam artists. The fort itself is pleasant to wander around, though you don't need a lot of time there to see the highlights.

Lots of traffic getting to and from the Fort, so don't plan on getting in and out quickly. Nice big plaza overlooking the area. Good views of the old protective wall. Best sections were interesting use of mirrors and mirror sections in the walls and ceilings.

Second time we have visited Amber Fort and it still delights. Would recommend you also take time to visit the village of Amber just outside the Fort to see the temple and step well.

This is an old fort with marvelous architecture. It has famous glasswork. The fort is very spacious. A must visit place with a lot of walking involved. Visited in February 2017.

Fort is very picturesque, worth a visit. Also do not miss the Light and sound show hosted in the voice of Mr.Amitabh Bacchhan. Though the technology is not latest, the show is really informative. One thing I found offensive in the information is that, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not given the expected credit. Also they just call him just Shivaji in the prose, which is not right.U should definitely hire a Guide to enjoy the fort

This is yet another beautiful fort and palace in Rajasthan, but with the worst audio-guide ever! Take a real guide, it's worth it!

I would rate this fort as one of the best fort I have visited. I am really impressed by the art and culture of Rajasthan. Entry prices are also reasonable.make sure to hire a guide to understand the history of the fort.

We spent way more time here than we thought we would. There is so much to see in the massive fort. The walk up don’t very long and if you continue in the road you can make it to the Jaigarh fort for a spectacular view.

Nothing if you are not interested in the astronomy.
This place should be skipped and you can save your rupees for other places.
