“Brilliant - highly recommended”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have just come to the end of a lovely 4 night stay at Brynmeini Lodge, which is a real gem. We booked it on the strength of the Trip Advisor reviews and photos, but frankly the photos don't really do it justice.
The lodge is spacious and comfortable and set in its own private garden on the edge of the farm (so private that there is no need to shut the blinds in the evening, expect to avoid being woken up by early morning sunshine). Julie and David are friendly and welcoming and keen to do what they can to make your stay enjoyable and special.
The kitchen is well equipped with all the gear you might expect and need, plus extras like kitchen roll, spare bin bags, tea, coffee, sugar, proper salt and pepper grinders... We arrived to find bread, milk, butter, fresh eggs from the farm, and wine in the fridge. And since we had booked a supermarket grocery delivery for our first evening, there was really no need to bring any bits and pieces at all.
The lounge has a lovely wood burning stove (with plenty of extra wood available in the barn up at the farm) which we lit for fun rather than necessity - it very quickly warmed up the whole lodge. Electric heaters are also available should they be needed in colder weather.
There is no mobile phone signal at the lodge but there is a patchy signal in the farmyard (100m up from the lodge) but Julie and David explained that their office phone was at our disposal and their home phone too should we need it at any time.
However, despite the lack of mobile reception there is WiFi in the lodge, which was a welcome surprise.
Despite not being advertised as being suitable for children, we checked with Julie before booking, and our 2 young children (infant school aged) really enjoyed it here. You just need to be aware that the pond is deep, so although it is securely fenced off, it is a potential hazard should someone crash through the flexible wire fencing. And that the lake at the bottom of the garden is fenced off with electric fencing. So, this probably is not suitable as a base for toddlers or young children. However our children thoroughly enjoyed exploring and playing in the garden (which is very well kept and nice and clean) and also helped out with feeding the animals (sheep, goats, alpacas and chickens) on our first afternoon. Julie had also provided child sized robes for them which they thoroughly enjoyed!
All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this as a rather special holiday destination for couples of any age, families, and any other small group. I would certainly like to come back!

“Stunning cabin”
Reviewed July 3, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The pictures on the website do the cabin and grounds no justice, they are truly Gorgeous!
A lovely welcome with essential things like bread, eggs and milk.
A stunning working farm run by David and Julie, who were happy to help with questions and recommendations on local places to visit.
They even dog sat for us when we went sea Fishing for a day. We travelled with 2 small dogs who were truly welcome, they even got a dog chew each! And a teenage son.
The cabin is set in the farm grounds but still secluded and private, in view of there lake with a variety of gorgeous ducks and fowl. Close to towns, beaches, gorgeous coast lines and plenty of Welsh pubs.

“Perfect peaceful long weekend at this rural setting in a beautiful lodge”
Reviewed June 16, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We just spent a very enjoyable long weekend at this charming lodge situated in the picturesque rural lands of the owners David and Julie. As a couple we travel a lot and have stayed in plenty of lodges and cottages all over the U.K but this place just beats them all, it was just perfect.
On arrival we were warmly greeted by Julie who gave us a tour of the lodge and its grounds, the lodge itself is stunning and built from solid wood all throughout with a pleasantly warm, cosy, peaceful and tranquil feel inside, the decking area as you step outside the French doors overlook the lake with some stunning countryside scenery.
Towels, bedding, robes and were provided by the lovely owners who were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, they even provided us with fresh eggs, tea bags, coffee, milk, and a bottle of rose which was all waiting inside the lodge on our arrival.
The cleanliness was of a very high standard, the lodge is a lot more spacious and bigger than appears in the photos and was equipped with everything that we could have imagined that we would need for a comfortable stay.
The weather was sunny and just perfect for us to lay outside and just relax on the neatly cut lawn surrounding the lodge.
Nothing was too much trouble for David and Julie they made us feel so very welcome and on many occasions were at hand to advise us on places of interest to visit.
The lodge is ideally situated if you want to explore Pembrokeshire. Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire town centers are both nearby with plenty of shops and pubs (approx. 15 mins by car), and the beach situated in Newport is not too far away either (approx. 20 mins by car)
Or if you fancy just going for a stroll around the farm and its lands there are plenty of birds and animals to see.
Overall staying at this Lodge was a wonderful experience and we will have no hesitation in going back to stay there again.
Thank you so much to David and Julie, we will see both again very soon.
Regards, Kam & Donna.

“Beautiful Lodge in serene setting”
Reviewed May 21, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This really is the most wonderful lodge, comfortable, modern and well equipped. The owners made us and our dogs feel instantly welcome. The setting is very rural and peaceful with lovely grounds and views of the lake. We found some excellent walks nearby and visited the very pretty coastal towns of Aberport and New Quay. We would not hesitate to recommend this accomodation and hope to visit again in the near future.
