I was with a group and stayed for a week. We had several problems and the rooms was the worst and the biggest. For the role I played in this group it is not my job to go through all the details. However I must say that though the reception was telling us all the time the hotel is fully booked (for we can not change our rooms) the entire week hotel felt rather empty. (this is a big hotel. If it was really full, we would know it.) we were the only ones in the bar and in the restaurant in the evening, for example. The first night in the hotel we've spent on the reception desk arguing about the rooms and I had a strong feeling the receptionists were not aloud to do anything without consulting the boss and it is something I have never seen before
(so than where was this boss when they needed him?!). I don't blame the girls on the reception. it is the poorest management I've ever seen. And it is a terrible thing that no one ever apologized to us, apart from the room maid. (and it had really nothing to do with her anyway, but she is the only person thats doing her job properly in this hotel!!)
We are thankful to the restaurant that the hotel is using (it is the one located on the ground floor, outside the hotel) because they did their best to cheer us up a bit. And it is the only good thing that happened to us there. Then again, restaurant has nothing to do with the hotel as it is privately owned place that simply cooperates with the hotel. And I'm sorry. But I'll keep my fingers crossed so I never get back to Del Mar.

Room Tip: good luck with that.

We stayed in a apartment this hotel on June 10 and find that there is alsolutely no electricity in the room. Actually we phoned the hotel at 9 p.m. that evening just to inform them of our late check-in around mid-night. The receptioin did not mention to us even she knew there will be a cut in the electricity that night. When we checked in to know such fact, we have no other choice but to stay in that hotel. The staff told us that it was due to some maintenance tasks of their own hotel. We asked for torches or candles but the staff could not help with quite unkeen altitude. We did our cleaning in dark and slept.

The next morning, we went to the front counter to lodge a complaint and request for compansation. After some negotiation, the humble lady assistant manager understood the problem and agreed to waive the full room charge. When we are going to leave, she went back to take a phone call and told us that the Manager was very angry and demand us to pay the full room charge. Thus we requested to talk to the Manager directly.

We were told to wait to 3 minutes but the Manager did not until 15 minutes later. It was then the most terrible matters happened. The rude middle aged female Manger told us that as we had slept that night and use their water and sheets, we have to pay full room charge. She even lied to us that they did not know about the electricity cut before we arrive, and that the electricity cut was not caused by the hotel. In a very unpolite manner, she demand us to pay the full room charge or else they would call the police. As we do not want to lose our time for the rest of our journey, we just paid and left the hell.

The hotel was absolutely not up to the international standard in the following areas:
1. The hoel should not offer rooms to customers should there be any maintenace which will cause electricity cut.
2. The hotel should actively inform the customers, by email or phone, as soon as possible when they know there is an electricity cut, so that customers can make alternative plan.
3. The hotel staff is not keen enough to help when the problem happened.
4. The hotel refused to provide their compansation which is already offered by their staff.
5. The unwillingness of the Manager to accept their own fault, and be responsible to it.
6. The rudeness and uncivil altitude of the Manager with alsolutely no room to negotiable (just threat to call police).
7. The obvious and unwise lies made up by the Manager to fool the customers.

We found an amazing deal on booking.com for this apart hotel and we were pleasantly surprised at how great this place was. This place has everything with the beach, pool, playground, restaurants, market, gelato/coffee bar, ATM, boat and bike rentals and pretty much anything else you could think of or need. We had a few minor annoyances like the checkout procedure which includes stripping the bed linens and having room service coming to check your room and taking out all of your own trash but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay here. There wasn't a lack of things to do and everything was actually reasonably priced in the markets and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone but its especially wonderful with children and probably our children's favorite vacation so far!

This hotel is fairly new and is very clean and tidy and the service staff are mostly pleasant and attentive, however....... Having asked for and expecting a sea view we were given an apartment at the rear of the hotel on the ground floor overlooking a `moat` and a concrete wall and fence. There was also a very noisy air conditioning unit near to our balcony which if we had slept in the kitchenette on the sofa bed together with the free standing noisy fridge/freezer would have kept us awake!!! The room we were given was designed for self catering families of four and consisted of one bedroom with no wardrobe storage, a kitchenette with a sofa bed and flat screen TV. (No English speaking programmes available) This room had wardrobe storage. The shower room (no bath) was adequate and was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. There is a mini supermarket on site together with a restaurant and cafe with good outside seating areas with lovely views across the bay. The pool area is also nice but there is no poolside bar. We had booked half board, the breakfasts were continental style and adequate, the evening dinner was very poor with little if any choice of menu. The price of a bottle of wine (not local) was in our opinion expensive for such a hotel (£21) but local house wine was reasonable and cheap (£1) for a good sized glass. The restaurant staff had good english and communicated well. LOCATION As described this is a small fishing village, there are a few bar/restaurants dotted about and that is it really! Apart from boat trips and a couple of walks there is nothing else here and no entertainment provided at the hotel. A car is essential if you want to do more than just chill out.

Room Tip: Ground floor rear rooms are a no go!!!! Book sea view and make sure you have written confirmation fr...

On the 1st June, 2013, I took a group of 24 to this Hotel. We had booked Rooms with sea view or thats what we thought . On arrival we were given rooms on floor 1 that when you opened your terrace door you immediately came face to face with a brick wall, and of course no sea view.
On behalf of my group I immediately returned to the Hotel reception, to show them paperwork showing we had requested sea view rooms but were met with an unhelpful response.Their reception manager MARCO had left for the day but I demanded to speak with him. He offered us no change of rooms. The agent at TRAVEL EUROPE was also informed and attended the Hotel, but she to had no response to changing our rooms to those with a sea view but was told that the Hotel was full. This was an absolute lie has myself and clients could clearly see that only about a quarter of the hotel rooms with sea view were being used. They would not change the rooms under any circumstances. The conduct of MARCO and the reception staff was disgusting to say the least.
The rooms assigned to myself and clients were in the worst possible location at the Hotel, although they were spotlessly clean and well furnished. If they would have relented a little and given us rooms on an higher level this would have been some little compensation for my group.
Whilst at the Hotel from 1ST - 8TH JUNE, the Hotel was never more than a quarter full and the only clients using the Hotel Bar and restaurants were ourselves. We had a guide assigned to us throughout our stay TANGRA, she was absolutely fabulous in every way but she too was disgusted with the attitude of the Hotel Staff. We were obviously the first English Group to visit this Hotel and it showed.I should add that the service of the waiters and waitresses was good and after some deliberation by TANGRA with the restaurant manager the food improved a little. The Hotel is large and is well positioned but needs to improve its mangement level.

Room Tip: Remember that the lower floors with no sea view have no view whatsoever only a wall.

The hotel is very nice .Its very big, clean and have a beautiful beach .but its little its little far from the city. Our rooms were great. We had a bedroom, small galley kitchen, a living area with a sofa, table and chairs for dining, flat screen TV (next to the microwave which only shows how tiny the kitchen was), a nice balcony. The bed was firm and comfortable.

Room Tip: Front side rooms are good to see the view.

We stayed one night in an "apartment" that lacked a fridge, kettle or anything beyond a bed, TV and shower. Even the shower didn't have a soap dish. There were no adornments to the room, not even a print on the wall! The checkout time had to be nominated the day before because we had to have the room checked by the cleaner to ensure we had not taken any items. This was required even though payement had to be made in full at checkin!
A lot of money had been spent on the foyer, pool etc, not too much on making the rooms actually comfortable and inviting to stay in.
