I was in Stoos this week on business, and, whilst the location itself is special, the grey, bland looking parts of the building that greet you as you round the corner from the cable car are a bit underwhelming. The rooms look like student accommodation, and the furniture ike it had been bought from the childrens section of a well known Swedish company. That said, the food and staff were superb. Special praise to Tin, who worked in the bar and restaurant - a polished performer if ever there was one. The pool and hot tub were lovely, and the sunset views from the mountain made up for the shortcomings previously mentioned,

Dear idontwanttogo2work,

Thank you very much for your comment. We are sorry that our taste in interior design is not the same as yours. The room has been refurbished in 2010 and equipped with quality furniture from canton Schwyz, Switzerland. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the food, the spa and the service of our staff.
We are looking forward to welcoming you back!

Best regards,

Marcel Neuhaus

Very nice hotel in a little ski resort (about 1h from Zurich by public transport). Excellent spa and room. Very good 3-day weekend offer, excellent value for money compared with other spa's in Switzerland. Highly recommendable.

Hotel Stoos is not the cheapest ones, but it offers great value for money. We stayed there for two night during the Easter 2013. Weather was crappy, but luckily hotel offered so much to do with kids! We had a Maisonette and it was great with two adults and three kids (ages between 2 and 7).

Rooms are clean and spacious and recently renovated with good taste. Food was excellent and complimentary cake buffet near the fire place or free prosecco at the breakfast really made our day.

Location is not bad, but it could be better as well. It requires a bit extra effort to reach the slopes with two year old, but it is doable. I recommend to arrive with cable car from Morschach, since the top station is just next to the hotel. And if you have a lot of luggage, staff will come to get you, if you just call them in advance.

We didn't use the Wellness (saunas etc.), since it is "Knackenzone" and you would have to be naked there (plus kids under 16 are not allowed). Luckily the big swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzi are open for kids as well. This was great action on a misty day!

In addition to the swimming pool and jacuzzi, hotel had a kids playroom at the third floor with toys, legos and movies. And from the ground flood you'll find billiard room, flippers and table football games.

One of the best hotels we have visited during our two years in Switzerland!

Really too expensive for what it is, feels more like a good 3 star hotel.
Food wasn't good at all.
The spa is quite small with the main swimming pool very cold.
Rooms have a very cold feeling, not romantic, not great for couples, don't have a chalet feeling at all.

Room Tip: Changed from the guesthouse to main hotel as the room there was really dull.

Had a week of work related seminar here combining skiing in the mornings and work in the afternoon/evenings. Hotel looks a bit rough from the outside, all the bigger the delight when you step inside. Last time I stayed in this hotel was around 10 years ago and they have gone through some major renovations - well done! The entrance, lounge, bar all very nice and cosy - although service at the bar sometimes a bit slow - the rooms modern and everything obviously good quality, the restaurant food excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff is friendly and helpful, except that they were a bit reluctant to provide me the shuttle from the cable car to the hotel (?). There is a games room downstairs with pool and football etc. and an excellent wellness area with different sauna's, treatments and a nice jaccuzi out on the deck in the snow! No cars on Stoos, but there is a tiny little village with some stores, many different restaurants etc. Everything really focused on wintersports of course. Seems like a great idea for a long weekend or mid week.

We stayed just one night in Stoos, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We purchased a package which included one night's accommodation (including buffet breakfast), a 4 course meal (dinner), cake and coffee and full use of the wellness area. We definitely weren't disappointed. The wellness area is small, but very well set up. It was fairly quiet so we didn't feel like sardines jammed into the sauna. The outdoor jacuzzi was nice, always a novelty when it is surrounded by snow and you're a toasty 30 degrees in the water. We stayed in a superior room, which was lovely, the balcony overlooked snow covered hills and was very quiet - you honestly couldn't hear a thing once in the room. My only complaint would be that there were no English pay tv channels, but honestly you don't really need to watch tv while you're here, there are plenty of other things to do.
The four course meal for dinner was excellent, the service was attentive and very pleasant. The food was lovely, cooked to perfection with an excellent choice of three different meals for main. I notified them in advance that I had dietary requirements and these were fulfilled like as if I had simply ordered something different from the menu, it was no hassle at all and the staff were more than happy to double check on certain things.
The buffet breakfast was delish! Again there was something special organised for me to eat which I really appreciated.
We will definitely think about coming back again and maybe next time incorporating a day of skiing as well as a day of wellness.

We were here during their off-season. This place is wonderful. The staff is very pleasant and accommodative. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The spa is wonderful. The views from Stoos are unique in all the world. When you take the funicular up from Schwyz, the hotel is about 400 meters towards the village. If you can get a promotional rate during the off season you will not be disappointed. During the ski season this place must be be fantastic!
