I stayed here for a three-day conference with colleagues. The hotel is in a great location close to the local train station and has beautiful views over the countryside. I have to admit that due to being in business dress and there being deep snow outside, I didn't leave the hotel for the whole conference so I can't comment on the village!

I had a double room in the old part of the hotel - very quiet and comfortable. Tea and coffee-making equipment in the room (which is not typical in Switzerland). Comfortable bed and modern bathroom. All-in-all a great room. We ate in the hotel for three meals a day and the food was generally excellent and there was always a tasty vegetarian option available. We had one grumpy waitress who was removed from serving our table after a complaint by my colleague, but otherwise the staff were friendly and helpful.
Only slight downsides were: no bath in the bathroom (although great shower), snow wasn't cleared from the path when we arrived so dragging a suitcase was tricky.

This was our first trip to Switzerland and we know very little German. The front desk was great and very helpful. The rooms were average, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable, but I guess that's the norm in Switzerland. I was expecting more for the rate of the room. The Hotel Restaurant was not worth their high prices. Waiters and other staff spoke very little English and couldn't explain the menu at all. We had no idea what we were ordering, and it cost $150 francs! Parking could be better. Scenery was very nice. There is an iceskating/hockey rink close by and could hear people playing there late at night from our room. There is a spa, which I did not get the chance to use. Internet in room was $40 for the week.

Stayed here for a 3 day conference - and all in all the stay was comfortable. It's a charming resort consisting of old and new buildings in the beautiful rolling hills of Emmental (think cheese) - meaning that you really are in the countryside away from amenties you may be used to.

Conference facilities, service and refreshments were more than acceptable. My only gripe is that facilities for the room can be lacking - it was impossible to obtain an iron (there was none available for fire security reasons??!), and bathroom facilities are, while clean, rather basic. Furthermore, a 'single' room means just that, and I and a number of collleagues had difficult y sleeping in single beds.

Other than though, an acceptable venue.
