We had a lovely lunch with excellent local red wine (house wine) at Bolgheri on the top of the hill of the old town round the corner. You have to walk to the town as it is restricted to drive through and the parking is down on the right when you arrive at Bolgheri. There is much to see around, a lot of famous vineries along the e Cypress alley that leads to Bolgheri and along the country roads around. The restaurant Pittore was very good, we had just a ravioli and a lasagne for the lunch but the menu was full of local specialities. The sun was shining and we were eating out at the terrace where nice parasols had been set up for the tables. Though we were on a hill we could not see much as there was a stone wall opposite but even that was pretty.
