“The perfect place to visit Venice”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

In my opinion, Il Melograno in Tessera is the perfect place to avoid the crowded city of Venice and enjoy a relaxing and wonderful time. I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and my 2 kids (5 and 7 y/o) and had an excellent time visiting Venice and avoiding the crowds (just a 15 mins. bus ride to Venice). The place is super clean, comfortable and the location is just perfect with several restaurants and stores around. Price was spot on and the service was outstanding. The owner, Gianni, was very helpful and nice. He has a nice little bio store in the building promoting his own products (vegetables) plus other stuff like bio wine and bio beer. Bottom line, I'd definitely go back to Il Melograno and absolutely recommend this place to friends and family. One more thing to mention, they do not offer food service but you have a fully equipped kitchen in the room to do your own cooking if you don't feel like going out to eat and FYI, this is not a con for me.

Thanks Gianni!

We spent a lovely 4 days here. The apartment was modern, clean, stocked with all the required utensills and Gianni and Michela went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. On arrival one is provided with a map and info on how to get to Venice, where to eat/shop etc in the surrounding area (large supermarket in town). We had our own car and had free shaded parking. In the mornings we simply drove the short distance to Tessera, paid 5 Euro for parking for the day and used our transport card to travel to Venice by bus (9km to Venice) and from there to hop on and off the vaparetto's(all included in the price of the card- about 20 Euro p.p for 2 days). Very convenient as we never had to worry about parking in Venice. Also, it was nice to go back to the peace and quiet of the farm every evening. They have a farm shop on the premises (open til 7pm)and sell the freshest vegetables, fruit(all grown on the farm), condiments and wine at incredibly low prices, so we were able to buy fresh food every afternoon for our evening meal. Loved it. We paid 75 Euro per night for a 2 bedroomed apartment (September)-cleaning service after departure only. Great value for money- will definitely stay here again on our next visit. www.melogranovenezia.it Mail them on posta@melogranovenezia.it - they answered us within 24hrs every single time we had a question.

Nice, clean, comfortable accommodation (apartments). The new building with four apartments, parking, outdoor seating, small farm shop.
The apartment was clean, nicely furnished (living room with kitchenette (gas cooker, extractor fan, fridge, air conditioning, heating, TV LCD, WIFI), 2 bedroom, large bathroom.
Near Venice, Mestre and other town with shopping centers, restaurants, ATM.
Near the bus stop (we don´t use), but I think that the car is better.
Very nice owner.

We stayed in an apartment for 4 adults for 1 night. The apartment was very clean, well appointed and the host Gianni was excellent, providing lots of helpful information and speaking good English. The location includes a farm shop selling good quality produce. The apartment is a 15 minute bus ride from Venice, costing around 2 euros for a return trip. Well worth the money, very recommended. Good choice for a family that doesn't want to pay expensive Venice hotel prices.

We were a family of 6 people: parents, 3 children in their teens and grand ma.
Dani, the owner was extremly helpful. We bought vegetables from the farm and he got us fresh bread to start the day (WE were self catering in an apartment). very specious rooms and good service.
One draw back was the heat of August. We were there on August 25th 2011 and it was 39 c. and extremly humid. The a/c was only in the living room and 4 of us moved to the leaving room for the night.

Room Tip: come to venice in the spring or, at the latest, late July.

We stayed here for three nights. The owner gives a warm welcome and a good explanation of the surroundings. He also told the best way to go to Venice (20 min busride only €1,20), perfect!
Here however isn't much to do in the direct environment, so it's best to just lay back and do nothing. :)
The little shop below sells a lot of vegetables, wines, pasta's, oils and melons. No meat, bread, water, etc. but there is a supermarket nearby.
The rooms are very big, the kitchen is well equipped and clean.
You should surely visit the nearby restaurant Da Olindo! Only Italians eat there, we really enjoyed the food and experience! There's also a very good pizzeria nearby (opposite Torre di Tessera).

My Mother and I had an excellent three-night stay in the two-bedroom apartment.

Gianni was knowledgeable, helpful and had excellent recommendations on places to go and see and eat. He was friendly and accommodating and happily shuttled us when needed.

The apartment was very spacious, well-equipped, very clean and quiet. The location is superb; about a five-minute drive to the airport. Excellent value at 75 euros per night for the entire apartment.

I will definitely be returning to this excellent spot.
