Ignore the recent 'average' reviews, we stayed for 3 nights and didn't experience any issues with service in the dining room despite the place being fully occupied.
All the staff with whom we came into contact, including the manager Craig and his staff such as Melanie, were very helpful and friendly.
We would definitely stay here again and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, which matches the location within the beautiful village of Beckington.

Stayed at the woolpack on the weekend of 12 to 14th July ,went with my friend his first visit but not his last.We used it as a base for Bath which is about 30min by bus.We had room 8 which is a twin up in the eaves ,great room very quiet plenty of hot water not as though we had hot showers weather amazing up to 30'c so cold showers.Craig and his team as usual make you feel very welcome and nothing to much trouble for them ,Bryan the barman great bloke very happy to have a joke with the locals or with the guests. All in all great weekend.

We only stayed here for one night, but that was enough! We were given a room in the former attic area, which was quite dark, needing lights even in sunshine! To access the room took 3 ( I believe) flights of stairs each getting steeper & more contorted, making bringing up the suitcase very difficult, that's how awkward these steps were. In the room itself, you could only stand up in the centre of the room. The bathroom was laughable, it's the most awkward & hard to use room I've encountered. A mirror was hanging - brokenly above the basin making washing difficult let alone shaving. Again standing upright only in certain places! Washing hair over the bath was virtually impossible as the shower was fixed, meaning I got soaked, standing in the bath for a shower was tricky! Their was a little mould in the bathroom and a lot of long term dust along beam & in crevices, ending with a rusty radiator!
We booked a table in the restaurant for 7.30 - our starter finally arrived at 8.45pm! The food wasn't bad, not great but ok. The service was appalling, I don't think anyone in charge knew how many diners were due, to ensure adequate kitchen and waiting staff. There were 3 waitresses who seemed to be servicing the whole place, two of whomever were apologetic and pleasant, but one was so ignorant and off hand to the point of rudeness.
As you can guess, we won't be returning or recommending this place - sorry!

Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. We have recently made some improvements to our bathrooms, including removing shaving lights and rails to improve space. This will be completed in this particular bathroom over the next few weeks.

Please accept my apologies regarding the service you received. I will be looking into this matter further, as previous reviews have mentioned, my team usually provide excellent service. Thanks again for taking the time to review. Craig, General Manager

We stayed at the Woolpack last weekend with the intention of visiting Bath. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed a very nice meal on the Friday evening with a good menu selection. Food was very good quality which also included the breakfasts. There was a great atmosphere in the bar on the Friday night due to an excellent female vocalist/guitar player. Our room was directly above the bar and we anticipated that we would suffer from the noise below but in fact we're pleasantly surprised as to how quiet it was and really not disturbed at all. Overall we had a very nice time in a very nice pub/hotel in a very nice location. Will definitely use again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor seem to be larger and not too many stairs to climb

We made a late booking less than 24hrs before arrival for a one night stay. We made the booking via the internet and gained a 50% reduction on normal overnight charges. This colours our review. Staff were well trained and very helpful. The Inn is on the corner of what was a very busy junction but now much quiter due to the nearby bypass. Obviously used as a local for many but the hotel section is separate from the bars.
The room was small but very satisfactory except that, as you might expect with the age of building, the floor boards creaked! Breakfast was satisfactory and we has a brief but comfortable stay. The only challenge was that the shower had no adjusting lever which we pointed out on poayment. We assume this will be corrected beofre the next customer uses the room

I had room #1 and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a small room, but the room was actually of a good size. The bathroom was of good size and water was hot with good water pressure. This hotel does not have a lift, so if you have a lot of luggage, you'll be dragging it up the stairs. We tried to check out early (7AM) and there was no one to check us out eventhough breakfast they advertise breakfast from 7-10AM.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same.
