We had a weekend stay at the Woolpack at Beckington and were impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the room which was spacious and comfortable. Excellent breakfast too. I would have given this a five star rating but the room (number 1) was let down by the bathroom which because of inadequate ventilation had a smell of damp and a discolouration of the grouting, I suspect, due to mold. A shame because otherwise this is a fantastic place to stay

We stayed for two nights and had room 10 - up in the eaves. The biggest problem was the bathroom which was very small, to shower comfortably you have to be about 5ft tall! There was also no towel rail for the hand towels and the shaving mirror was in the way when trying to use the handbasin. One light bulb had blown in the room and although we reported this it was not replaced, making the area near the dressing table quite dark. We ate in the restaurant both nights and were happy with the food. On the second night it was very busy and unfortunately we were 'forgotten' a couple of times.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms on the second floor (in the eaves).

Thank you for your review, We value all comments and look to improve in any we can. We are currently considering a range of options to make some of our bathrooms more comfortable. As I explained on the evening, the fitting for the light had broken therefore could not be replaced Immediately. I also offered an extra table lamp, which was turned down. Once again thank you for taking the time to review. Craig, General Manager

Staff where very friendly and helpful. Suggest you book as it gets busy and there aren't many tables. Definitely worth a visit !!!

We stayed here twice, once in November and again for 2 nights in December and found it very warm and welcoming. The bar was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and quirky and very good value.

We loved this place it gave a real homely feel very comfortable and warm especially as it was snowing outside. Dinner was lovely and very nicely priced there was something to suit everyone the only downside was that my daughter who is 12 chose lasagne from the childrens menu that was pitched at 12 and under and when it arrived it was tiny and she was a bit disappointed i told her to eat it up and i'd order her another one when she finished but by the time she had she had robbed some things from everyones plate and was happy enough. The room was really cosy and warm with plenty of space for the five of us room 11 i think it was. very comfortable beds.Breakfast was really nice i had eggs benedict and it was yummy would def stay here again in fact i look forward to it

We recently stayed at the Woolpack Beckington over the Easter break.
I booked a superior room online and got a great rate and have to say was not disappointed. Room was large spacious and decorated interestingly with red padded wall.
Bathroom was large and well equipped, although the shower grout and sealant could have done with restoration.
Still nothing significant.
Bar and restaurant was great with open log fire, just want you need on a cold March night.
Food was inexpensive and prepared extremely well.
Beer was not bad either!
Breakfast was excellent with a really good choice
This is a great place to stay if visiting the area or if just passing through.
I will use definitely again

This was our 5 visit to the Woolpack so that must say something about the place. We went for 3nights over easter with my in-laws,it was there first visit and not there last,Craig and Gillian are excellent hosts nothing too much trouble for them. The pub still has that real country feel about it with its open fires. We had room 8 which is very cosy and lovely and quiet, I'm 6" tall so need to careful of the beams but worth it for a nice room.We ate there in the evening on all nights, food is very good and priced competitively .Bus stop only minutes from pub ,straight into Bath in about 35 min .What more do you need, great pub and accommodation close to Bath all in all perfect.
