Stayed for a long weekend in a Royal Terrace. Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff friendly and meals were very good. Hotel and the resort are very quiet, this is not the place for a thumping nightlife. If you want total peace quiet and relaxation, then you will struggle to find anywhere else on a par.

It’s such a shame there are not more adult only hotels like the Vanity Suite, total relaxing and such bliss not to have any screaming kids around. This is our second visit to this hotel and we will defiantly be going back.

The hotel is superbly equipped with very comfortable rooms, the beach is a short walk away but who would want to sit on a crowded noisy beach when you have the peace and quiet of the lovely gardens and facilities provided by this hotel. The staff are very friendly and attentive; the food is a little repetitive but plenty to choose from. The only down side is the location of the hotel and the proximity to other bars and restaurants this means you have to take a bus ride or taxi to the nearby town of Cala Ratjada to escape the limited evening entertainment provide by the hotel.

Don’t go to this hotel if you are seeking full on night life but if you are looking for an adult only chill out holiday I would totally recommend this hotel.

I was slightly disappointed with Travel Republic who offered an early booking discount but then reduced the cost immediately after their special offer ended.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the better rooms Block 4 or 1

My wife and I looked for a child free hotel and were wonderfully surprised by how quiet and relaxing this hotel was. We did some research and when we arrived we asked if we could upgrade to a royal suite. Not only an excellent room but great roof terrace with sun beds, Bali bed and jacuzzi. The reception staff could not have been more helpful. The food was all high quality and the restaurant staff were nice and friendly.
The night time entertainment was not great and as the hotel is very remote there is nowhere else to go but that was only a slight grumble.
The beach and dunes are only 5 mins walk away and there are a couple of Spar type supermarkets so you can buy drinks etc for your room. Would certainly recommend this hotel and we will be going back.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Vanity Suites and on the whole we really enjoyed our stay. We had a Garden Suite which faced away from the centre of the resort (building 4) so it felt really private. The hotel setting is very pleasant. There is a nice big pool and plenty of loungers around the pool and in the more shaded, grassy areas. The food is to a high standard. The breakfast buffet is massive as is the dinner buffet which has different themes every night. You can eat inside or out on the balcony depending on available seating, no reservations are taken. All the staff are super friendly as well. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away but we spent our time at the pool. The spa treatments are good and there is also a gym (open from 9 - 9). The hotel is next to a large apartment hotel complex and there are a further two restaurants available, one is on the beach and serves grilled meat and fish which was very good and also an Italian which we didn't try.
Some things we could be improved though. The hotel has no dedicated parking so if you have a rental car you may have to fight for a space with all the people going to the public beach and can end up with a 5 - 10 minute walk. The toiletries provided in the rooms are not very good quality and aren't often topped up, I'd suggest bringing your own. The tap water tastes pretty horrible but the hotel only provides 1 large bottle of water on arrival which is never replaced so you will need to buy your own. Lastly in 2012 I would expect a 4 star hotel to have a decent selection of movies available in the room, if you fancy just chilling out one night. The hotel does have DVDs but they're not recent.
We definitely had a great time though and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

We booked a suite with private terrace and jacuzzi for our 2nd Anniversary and it was simply great! We had a fantastic sea view and good privacy! Basically we spent all the weekend there without even going to the beach! We had a B&B formula and breakfast was really nice with a good variety! Highly recommended for couples!

We have stayed at the Vanity Suites Hotel for 9 nights - it was one of the best leisure vacations! Taxi from Palma airport costs 85 euro and road takes about 1.5 hours, but we had prebooked it two days before arrival. We had notified hotel about early arrival and when we get to the reception they can provide us two rooms (both with morning sun) to choose from. We preferred corner room under pine-trees - the only one minus were some ants on terrace. The reception staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful - for ex. they helped us to recover our lost luggage from aircarrier (Vueling, by the way)! Food was very good and various. Lots activities, like ping-pong, mini-golf, darts, ets. The beach is 5 minutes walk. Bus stop to the town is just near the reception. Two food stores (one with very good wine cellar) is 3 min walk.

The only disappointment was the work of the maid, but we are sure, it was an exception.

We can highly recommend the rest in Vanity Suite Hotel for all adult couples!

Room Tip: Block 1, corner terrace room are under pine-trees - very quite and relaxing

Sorry for late review.

We stayed at the Vanity Hotel Suite for 10 days. After arriving at the airport we had a bus transfer to the hotel. At first it was hard to find the correct bus even with help from the travel agency. Also the bus driver wasn’t that polite when asking him if this really was the correct bus as we were unsure about it. But that has nothing to do with the hotel.

The transfer itself takes a while (1-2 hours) as more than hotel was on our route. As the Vanity Hotel Suite is located on the other side of the island (compared to the airport), it is nearly the last hotel to stop for the bus.

Cala Mesquida itself isn’t that big. There are small supermarkets, tourist shops for beach wear, sun glasses postcards and so on and a few restaurants. There is also a car rental but it is not a major brand. Also a boat hire for guided trips is there. Mainly Cala Mesquida consists of hotels. At vanity suites there are no children allowed. However next to the hotel there is another and another and another. All other hotels allow children. That does not bother, just mentioning that the hotel complex consisting out of different named hotels is very big.

As we arrived in the early morning, our rooms were not ready yet. People were still at breakfast. The main hall is pretty large, with sofas to accommodate you. Before the entrance a small waterfall is running down the stairs. We were checked in nonetheless and were offered a cava during our waiting time. People there speak excellent Spanish, English and German by the way.
Check in was fast and friendly. Everything was explained, safe, property, times for food and so on. No questions remained open. Even our room was ready faster than we thought.

Our luggage was taken to the building nearest to the exit to the way to the beach. The escalator was serviced so the guy had to carry our luggage upstairs. When we arrived at the room and the luggage was put on a shelf, the guy was quickly away without a tip. So I can give you no advice on this. Complimentary fruit and water was available.

We had the Royal Terrace Suite with own roof terrace. It is worth all its money. Entering the room, on the right there was a big cabinet with safe inside and a minibar to fill up yourself. You could also order for the minibar. The safe costs extra but it is not that much. We used to keep our stuff there when we were at the beach or wandering around.

Left hand was the bathroom with tub and walk-in shower. The sinks where located out of the bathroom itself on the way leading to the bathroom door. There was a big twin-bed and a cupboard where the DVD-player and the TV were located. They have DVDs to borrow but we didn’t turn on the TV a single time so we did not care. The outer door lead to a big balcony with a table and two chairs. However the balconies of the adjacent flats are just separated by a low wall. The room also had a sofa and a table.

On the right side next to the balcony door, there was the (slightly narrow) staircase leading to the roof top terrace. The door had a lock which could be closed from the inside by the way. The terrace had an outside bed with sun-cover, a wooden whirlpool with cover for colder nights to keep the water from getting too cold, two chairs, a table and a lounger. The terrace was wooden and well maintained. We had a great view over the countryside in front and towards the beach and the sea. There was also an outside shower.

Same issue as with the balcony: there were small “walls” to protect you from views of the adjacent terraces on both sides but it didn’t really help. You could look through and over them. So privacy is different. And that is the only downturn here: They should make the walls “non see-through” and higher. Also in the back where the bed is located you could look into the floor of the hotel building. However there was no chance to look on the terrace.

However the terrace can not be beaten. It was just great to sit in the pool with a cava and look at the sundown. So go for the terrace option. I can only recommend.

The property of the hotel is well maintained, they mow the lawn regularly in the morning, the tidy up the loungers and place the pillows and so on. The big pool area consists of a large pool in form of an 8, also smaller whirlpools similar to those on the royal terrace with covers and kinds of four-poster beds are allocated on the pool area. Loungers there are enough and although there are mostly Germans in the hotel, there is no lounger reservation with towels, but it is of course forbidden.

They have a pool bar where you can also order snacks. Next to it there is an outside sitting area mostly for the evening entertainment. But you can also sit inside, play pool, play Wii or do something else.
Every evening there was evening entertainment which changing bands. Some were great some were good. All in all it was fun to sit outside and have a cocktail.

They have sport facilities on their grounds and offer various things to do like early morning sport or wandering in a group to a certain spot. As we are not into sports that much we missed all these events but did something on our own.

Food was great. You can sit in the large hall or on the adjacent terrace. However places on the terrace are sometimes hard to come by. For breakfast there was always the possibility to have cava (free), omelettes made to order, eggs cooked and boiled, scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, bread, rolls, cake, yoghurt, milk, juice, coffee, tea and so on. Everything you could think of they had it.

Same counts for the dinner. Every day they had a different theme. We did not have the feeling that it repeated but it did. Wines and beer were good and of course they provided the possibility to store the open wine for the next day.
The buffet was never empty, at least two cooks where freshly cooking meat and other things. Descriptions of the food were mostly provided in Spanish, English and German.

The beach is close, you are there by foot in a few minutes. At the beach there is a small beach bar, where you can also get small pizzas and other snacks. There is also a good restaurant run by the hotel where also the toilet facilities are located.
As the beach is for the guests of all hotels, you will also have children there. Just mentioning.
The beach is watched by 2-3 lifeguards. This is necessary as sometimes the sea had strong currents pulling you from the middle of the beach. That was the reason why sometimes the middle part of the beach was closed. One guy needed to be rescued as he was pulled of but I think it was a minor thing.
At the upper part I think there is unofficial nudist beach. So you better watch out where you go. ;)
They also have a rental for pedal-boats and sunshades.

Activities there are a lot, also organized by the hotel. However we did stuff on our won. We hiked through the countryside. You can go pretty far to the north along the coast passing some beaches. Also into the other direction you can reach the tourist place Cala Ratjada through the forest. Don’t forget to ascend the hill/mountain between Cala Mesquida and Cala Ratjada. The view is worth the strain. The easier way is from Cala Ratjada. The other way coming from Cala Mesquida is tough.

So what else can I say? It was a great holiday and was very relaxing. We stayed there in the middle of October but we were lucky with the weather. We had sunshine nearly every day. However the nights were beginning to get colder. You recognized that when sitting on the terrace for breakfast.

We did not use the spa facilities so I can not comment on them.

Great hotel, without children and quite. So I can only recommend. I would come back however we never stay at the same place twice. If any questions, just send me a message. Thanks.

Room Tip: Take the ones with seperate own roof terrace. You won't regret.
