“We loved this cottage.”
Reviewed April 11, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Fantastic location & deceptively spacious. Great base for the great outdoors with Westward Ho beach within walking distance & the Tarka Trail only up the road.

“Great place to stay”
Reviewed August 9, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Had a lovely week at The Captain's House, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Stayed there with twin 11 year old daughters and there grandmother. Plenty of space and nice courtyard garden to relax in I would recommend this as an ideal base for a holiday.

“A lovely cottage with everything you could need from a home from home.”

Situated just a short walk from the quay where it is easy to park. The cottage was well equipped and had everything you could possibly need. Appledore itself is a very nice little village on the river estuary. There are plenty of Cafe's and a really good Pub that does great food.

“House with just about everything”

Loved our holiday there! Appledore doesn't have what i would call a beach but it makes up for the lack of it in so many other ways. It's so laid back, lots of crabbing, good pubs, live music, amazing Hockings ice cream (the best)! Fish and chips to die for! Lots of wonderful coffee shops, little gift shops and so many streets to explore.
The Captains House is a real family house. Very well equipped. The six of us had loads of room, so that was a real bonus. If you don't mind driving the short distance to Westward Ho!
Then this is a really good house to rent. Regatta/Carnival week is a great time to pick!
