Thought it would be a nice idea to stay at B.H. for a family wedding taking place on the Friday afternoon/evening in Palm Beach. First shock was being shown to a tatty little room adjacent to the rest of the rooms and advised that this was the "breakfast area" with a couple of chairs, fridge and a few breakfast type items of food. Obviously although $220 a night, guests are not considered good enough to be servied breakfast in the restaurant downstairs!

Booked in, in time to get showered etc., for the wedding only to find that the room we were in was so small that you could barely swing a cat, also minus most of the usual facilities that you would expect.. There was not even a proper mirror in the room, only a tiny shaving mirror above the basin in the tiny shower room! I had to ask to use another room to apply make up in the end, it was not what I expected. The room we were allocated was directly next to the "breakfast room" and to top it all we were awoken the next morning at 7am to loud voices, laughter etc., coming from the "breakfast room" where a bridal party was having champagne & getting ready (hairdresser & all) along with several family members, who had totally taken over the "breakfast room" anyway. Due to the noise factor, in the end we got up earlier than we wanted only to try and pick our way through the wedding party to attempt to avail ourselves of some breakfast, which in the end proved all too hard and we gave up and went to a local cafe! Not what I had expected from B.H. I did write to management advising of our terrible experience. Was initially given a "down pat" type of response, but a few days later offered a free nights accommodation midweek, which I have no desire to take them up on. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Very dissapointing experience all around! We ate at three o'clock not their busiest period by anyones imagination. My boyfriend ordered the Ocean Trout with anchives and capers, it was flavouless overcooked and came on a bed of marinated peppers which could have come out of a supermarket jar. I had the half chicken with mascapone cheese, pinenuts and sultans. To start, the half chicken was a quarter. Though the stuffing was lovely the thigh was undercokked, pink and bloody. When we complained to the manager he said " That organic chicken does not cook as well in the thigh area as normal chicken." Perhaps a different chemical composition to our normal humble chicks! Bless him he said "I was free to eat the rest."

Honestly save your money and go to Beach House on Palm Beach itself. They over charge and only have the dollar rather than the customer experience at heart !

Never Again!!!!

We arrived in Palm Beach on a couple of motorcycles not knowing if there was accommodation in the area. Palm Beach is an isthmus 32 kms north of Sydneys Circular Quay.
We found this guesthouse by chance looking for a nearby restaurant. What a find. Not only was the accommodation first class, but the restaurant on the ground floor was unbelievable. It would be a fabulous retreat for a weekend away for 2. Very romantic, (but not for 2 guys on motorcyles!)
Go there if you get anywhere close, you won't regret it.
