“Bijou Cottage in Perfect Location”
Reviewed July 16, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Very well equipt , clean and comfortable cottage, ideally situated close to all shops, pubs, and restaurants, Fantastic coastal walks from the doorstep. Nice patio area to relax in. Owners left a welcome pack for us on arrival which was a nice touch. New Quay itself is an idyllic place, picturesque and everything you need for a relaxing break. There is a parking space adjacent to the property which was good and the neighbours were very friendly. Cottage not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the staircase is quite narrow and steep. The only toilet is downstairs, no upstairs bathroom, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay,

“Week in West Wales”
Reviewed July 10, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Cottage was well stocked and a welcome pack was left. Two good-sized bedrooms. Bathroom was downstairs and was awkward to access at night. Several steps throughout cottage and narrow wooden stairs would be difficult for less mobile. New Quay is fabulous town with many eateries. Loved watching for dolphins in the harbour.

“Excellent accomodation in an ideal location”
Reviewed August 14, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This lovely cottage is situated a few minutes walk from New Quay harbour. You can park your car at the cottage and theres no need to drive it again, which was ideal for us after a 7 hour drive to Wales. The cottage was very clean, fully equipped, newly refurbished and had everything you need for your stay. The welcome pack was a really lovely gift. We will definitely be booking this cottage again when we come to New Quay and we've recommended it to other family members too. New Quay is a lovely seaside town with clean beaches, gift shops and plenty of places to eat.

“Two week stay”
Reviewed July 2, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

A lovely cottage, with all the necessities we needed for a 2 week holiday. A2 minute walk from a small convenience stall and 3 to 15 minutes from all other eateries and shops, and the main quay from which to watch the bottlenose dolphins, the star attractions of the bay and the main reason behind our visit, (if you can see Gannets the dolphins aren't far away!).

We went with Seamor boats for an hour and a halfs trip round the bay which was very informative. However, ANY boat trips do not guarantee any dolphin sightings and probably not recommended for those who suffer any type of travel sickness (a lot of grey 'gills' on the return 'calmer waters)

The weather wasn't always with us but on most days had moved on when we arrived at our destination. Places worth visiting are Borth Animalarium small but well kept zoo, with a recent addition of 3 adorable Lynx kittens, Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre, registered Red Kite feeding station (3.00 pm every day during summer0, Da Mhile Distillery with their lovely Gins, brandies and some (expensive) whisky, Penlon Brewery (within walking distance).
We ate several times in new quay, Lime Crab, Port of Call (twice as really nice people), the watch House (nice Mussels at lunch), Captains Rendevous (take away Fish and chips just as good as the Lime Crab), the Wellington Inn ( big plates for those with BIG appetites!!) and OMG Creme Pen Cei Homemade Ice Cream, on several occasions .... and why not, we were on holiday!! (lol). We brought dressed crab a lobster, and pot of Spider Crab meat from the fishmongers for sandwiches and salad, soooo nice to buy fresh!!

If in Cardigan then definitely Food For Thought , it's their number 1 eatery and for a good reason, we went traditional and the Ham Cawl ( Welsh soup/broth) was one of the best tasting, and filling soups I've ever had.

To say we'd never heard of New Quay two months ago, it's a lovely place, and the cottage is well placed (bit busy around 8.45 am and 3.15 pm with the infant school next door (almost)).

Thanks to Care for a lovely welcome pack and letting us stay in such a lovely little cottage, if she'll have us, we will be back.

“Fabulous cottage, great area, beautiful scenery....perfect.”
Reviewed June 9, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We spent a fantastic week at 1 Field Cottage, New Quay. The cottage was clean, tidy, very well presented and proved to be a perfect base for our trip to Wales. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed returning from a day out to relax in the sunny court yard at the rear of the cottage. Inside the cottage the rooms had a lovely cosy feel and the kitchen had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect holiday. Thank you.
