“Beautifully converted, comfortable cottage in lovely location”
Reviewed April 18, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent four nights here on a profoundly relaxing and enjoyable family break. The cottage is part of a barn conversion on an organic farm, approached up a steep curving driveway. It looks out on to the farm in one direction, and across a small garden to fields the other way. The conversion has been done absolutely beautifully, with a large high ceilinged living/dining room upstairs, and the kitchen and two bedrooms, both en-suite, downstairs. It's very tastefully decorated, nicely restrained, and probably the nicest interior of any cottage we've stayed in. It's very well equipped, with everything one might need in the kitchen, and a wood-burner, TV, DVD player, hi-fi (with Mk1 ipod dock) and even a piano upstairs.

The beds were very comfortable, and the kids' room with the twin beds could be completely blacked out to give them a nice long sleep! It was spotlessly clean, and we were delighted that we took advantage of the option for a veg box and freshly cooked food on arrival - delicious.

The cottage is very much on the farm, with Bean the dog around in the yard, along with the chickens, and we regularly saw Nathan hard at work on his tractor or in the field. Nathan gave us a fascinating tour of the place which I highly recommend. It's not a place to go to for total isolation, but we had complete privacy, we were left alone unless we made a point of engaging with the owners, and the lack of mobile signal meant that we were wonderfully untroubled by work emails or other hassles.

There's loads to do in the area - lovely walks from the house, or a short drive to New Quay (where we saw dolphins, and ate well at Traeth), Aberaeron, and elsewhere. The Welsh coast path is very close, and the countryside round there is beautiful.

Very highly recommended.

Alicia and Nathan made us so very welcome on their organic farm. The cottage is spacious and very well designed. We managed to see 6 dolphins in New Quay which was our highlight! I'd highly recommend this cottage.

“Very relaxing space in a quiet location very interesting organic farm and good sandy beaches nearby”
Reviewed September 19, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

The Hayloft is set on an organic farm and is spacious with the living area upstairs which we liked and kitchen and bedrooms both en suite downstairs. We found it very relaxing and quiet although we were on a farm. The area has lovely sandy beaches and good walking and was unspoilt and not busy. The food we purchased was from farm shops and good quality, if you wanted large supermarkets you would go to Cardigan about 20 mins away, there was a pub in the village but we really felt away from it all.
