Stopping here for one night during the worst UK spring in 50 years, we were met with rain and gale force winds.
I had requested a sea view room and we were given probably the best room in the house, with extensive views out over the bay and coast line. The only problem was that we couldn't see much because of the rain ! When we were shown to the room by one of the staff, he commented on how cold the room was (and it was) despite the heater beng in operation. We went for a (brief)walk and when we came back, we found that there was an extra heater put in the room for us and that it was now very cozy.
Staff at the Penwig are very friendly and most helpfull. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable and the en-suite bathrom had everything you needed. There is tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a flat screen TV. Breakfast was good and if you choose a hot one, it is cooked for you on order. Parking is at the rear of the hotel and there is an entry off the car park into the bar/restaurant area.
New Quay is very pretty and is no doubt extrememly popular in summer. There are many restaurants near the hotel, as well as a small supermarket, fish and chip shops and pubs.More
