First went to this café based on tripadvisor reviews and as it was late in the day couldn't get a meal, so decided instead to get some cakes boxed to go. As we ate them on the bench outside I couldn't believe it- I'm an avid baked myself but these cakes were the BEST I had ever had- and not just one of them but all the varieties we tried. I had the cherry bakewell sponge. It was so moist and fantastic my mouth is waterering now!
After this we knew we had to try the sunday lunch everyone was raving about. After all surely they couldn't do savoury as well? we didn't have a booking until 3 (they are very popular) but when my husband and our 3 children arrived we felt so at home, nothing was too much trouble and the children were totally welcomed. The hosts are amazing the lunch totally home cooked and the pudding to die for- I had the strawberry custard tart.
we even got treats boxed for our journey home, the stilton and walnut quiche made the 5 hours drive fly by. whatever you choose will be fabulous- I cannot believe the talent of the lady owner who bakes everything herself and with the hosting of her and her husband everything is perfect. If there is fault to be found in Bosums locker I couldn't find it!

We called in to see Brian and Jane, and had an excellent lunch of goats cheese salad and tuna baguette. Came back the next day for a slice of homemade cake. This is the best cafe in Newquay, not to be missed.

At the bottom of the hill, closer to the beach and the boat trip kiosks, it's crowded, hectic, and full of quick bite places.

Take a 10 minute walk up the hill to get to Bosun's Locker and you will not regret it. Everything is homemade with many vegetable garnishes grown right in the owner's garden.

The owners welcome you like a family member with Mr hosting you and Mrs cooking everything for you. The hosting is warm and welcoming with guidance on places to go and local culture and the food is outstanding - large portions, fantastic quality, and with numerous garnishes for you to try.

Lunch here was the absolute food highlight of our 2 weeks in Wales. We'll remember the meal and the hospitality for a long time to come and have already recommended Bosun's Locker to others.

A rare find with rare hosts and even rarer quality cafe fare.

What a happy find. Great welcome and service. Wonderful roast turkey and beef and desserts that, I think, are probably unmatched in 48 years of eating. Really generous portions and when I asked for the bill, it was literally half of what I was expecting. Thanks Brian and team!

We went for Sunday lunch and it was amazing! I had turkey and my mum had lamb, you get a lot of meat, 2 Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and 9 varieties of veg! It was one of the best Sunday lunches we've ever had! The people who run are just so lovely, it feels like you are going to their house to eat! Brian and his wife (the cook) came and talked to everyone and made it a truly friendly and personal experience. Pudding! My mum had a strawberry and fresh cream cake, it was huge! I just can't say anything bad about Bosun's Locker, it is a special, unique place and we will definitely be back soon! Thank you :)
