I really cannot speak highly enough of Deilen Aur. A lovely cottage in beautiful and peaceful surrounds. First the house, downstairs was a large wood burner the lounge area with a big supply of everything needed to keep the fire going.
The cosy lounge led into a beautiful spacious kitchen, patio doors gave views out and really fresh and airy feel. Very well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher too.
The garden was also such a peaceful place. One of our party was nearly 3 and we couldn't get her out of the pirate house and slide. It was a beautiful retreat.
The upstairs was lovely too with a large fish tank in the landing leading to three lovely rooms. The youngest slept on a cabin bed, the 14 and 12 year old had single beds each in the room next door.
I was on the king bed in the third bedroom and was such a lovely peaceful sleep. There was a bath and shower upstairs too which was a real bonus. This on addition to downstairs wc.
The owners aren't far away from the property so help could be easily gained.we never needed any but was good to know!
The location lent itself to lovely countryside and beach days out. Briefly we did...
Sat: arrive and settle
Sun: all off to cei bach (lovely secluded beach approx 10 mins drive
Mon: 5 mins drive to new quay, parked £4 for the day, boat tour trying to see dolphins (missed them but saw seals)
Tues: Aberystwyth (30 mins), shopping, pier, beach, bought disposable bbq and had on a lovely evening back at cei bach
Weds: had to travel to Cardiff (2 hrs) so day out there
Thurs: mwnt beach and Cilgerran castle (20 mins). Was lovely, both national trust
Fri: off to gold mines at dolocauthi. Was great fun. Again national trust.
Sat: set off for home
So despite mixed weather a truly great holiday. Thank you so much!
Great location - in the heart of the countryside but the beach and many other attractions only a short car ride away. In the cottage all the amenities (including wet weather activities) you could want for a successful, child-friendly holiday - and great for parents and grandparents too! Very welcoming and helpful host family - a big thank you especially to the boys, for sharing all your toys and your lovely playhouse.
This was a real home from home. There was not one thing that i thought 'i wish they had...' If you like a nice quiet country setting this is definitely somewhere to give serious thought to.
