We go to this hotel twice a year (May/June & Sept/Oct) and have never been disappointed. This year they have added a swimming pool & re opened the restaurant. Good food at reasonable prices & good views whilst enjoying your meals.

Room tip: All rooms are of a good size, standard & very clean.

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at the Ionian Star hotel in Alykes, Zante. Before going furthur, I have to say after 2 days at home I have booked for next year.
The hotel is positioned perfectly just a few steps from the beautiful beach oh Alykes village, Zante.
We stayed on b&b basis, very good continental breakfast, Good English available at just €5.After breakfast on the hotel terrace you can just step onto the beach or choose the amazing pool fitted by George this year.
We travelled with Jet2 on a package though many do book independently. Generally the sea view side of the hotel is kept for independent guests but if available can be occupied by Jet2 customers for a small premium.
We found the Ionian Star the perfect place to stay, close to beach, restaurants, bars and very friendly, clean and comfortable.

Didn't stay at the hotel but frequently came to the bar and used the pool. The pool is extremely clean and has several different Jacuzzi chairs. The staff are friendly and the food is nice and cheap!!!

Returned today from a great week in Alykes.

Nothing really to add which hasn't aready been said before. For those of us who prefer small, family owned hotels, this one is well on track to be top class. (Yes....even with the hilariously tight shower cubicles, but in our experience this is not uncommon on Zakynthos)

It's not just that George, his wife, his mum and everyone else work hard to deliver good service, (they do), its also that its .......well, its authentic. No big fake corporate smiles here - just genuine folk running a lovely little hotel in a pretty much perfect location...and whatever the request, the answer is usually "sure, of course".

And the continued investment in improved facilities is very obvious....new pool, new outdoor canopies around the outdoor lounge. This place is run with pride.

We'll be back.
