I fished at this lake, and stayed at the lodge last year. It was my first experience in Canada, and not my last. I am returning in late spring of 2014, and cannot wait. David, and the accommodations, along with great Trout, and northern fishing have me hooked. We stayed in the new cabin on the main island, it was nice, very clean. We also spent 3 days away from the main lodge at the outpost cabin, also very clean.. Both places offer plenty of firewood, boats and gas. This environment is laid back, and you are only in cabin's when you are hungry and pooped out from drinking and fishing.
Beautiful Anishinabi lake, and its offspring smaller lakes see only a few hundred people a year. Amazingly surreal, just our party's boats, and the wilderness. This year, I will fishing for Walleye and small mouth as well. Pure heaven for people who want to keep it simple, and get away. Our party caught over 50 Lake trout, and hundreds of northern. All good size. The cold rainy weather late in our trip crippled our walleye trips, but all in all, a great experience.More
