“Everything was perfect!”

I absolutely recommend you the Cavos Bay Hotel for a pleasant stage at the wonderful island of Ikaria. The hotel's location is amazing, with spectacular views to the sea, to the beautiful village of Armenistís and the beach of Livadia. Sunrise and sunset!, both can be seen from Cavos Hotel! Two swimming pools, direct access to the sea following one well pavemented path, spectaculars views all the time... The staff is excellent, both professional (they all are very friendly and they will do their best in all the questions that you might have) and personal (they all will really make you feel like at home). Without any doubt, I would come back again and again and again :-) I agree with Nico508, it's for me "Mein absolutes Lieblingshotel" too!

We stayed 2 days in this hotel. The hotel has wifi only if you are in the lobby. The value is reasonable if you compare it to the other hotels in Ikaria. The breakfast is above average but not the best. The service is average and the hotel has no access to the sea althought it seems so.

The hotel has rooms with very nice view to the sea with open however balconies to a terace,i.e.limited privacy. Grained walls and old beds not expected from a hotel with..conference´s room (!).Staff willing to help, the worst of all was the breakfast..very poor variety and of low quality. Not value for money since even though it was high season, with half price you could find same rooms in the same area.If you want good location and nice view to the sunset choose it but don't take breakfast, there are perfect bakeries with handmade candies everywhere!

With one of the best locations of a beach hotel we have ever seen, overlooking the sea on a cliff facing south and westward in Armenistis in Ikaria with two swimming pools with heated salt water (you can also go down to the sea to swim and snorkle) this family run hotel is hard to beat for what you pay This is the third time we are staying at Cavos Bay (this time travelling as a family of 6), the price and location making it all worthwhile. A pleasant, acommodating staff, nice common terrace and reception area, but rather bleak and outdated (but clean) rooms and interior (although nice terraces in most rooms), and a very simple breakfast buffet with no variation from day to day. Walking distance to all restaurants and amenities are within few minutes, and the 2 major beaches are within 15 -20 minutes walk. We love Ikaria - great if you want to get away from it all and want a quiet beach holiday. The low price is the reason for the fourth star in this review :-)

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the sea - that is a must on this hotel.

If you like pure chill, Cavos Bay in Armenistis is the place to do it. Armenistis is a small village with a handful of tavernas, a grocery shop, a bakery, a hairdresser and a motor bike rental shop. It has two fabulous, quiet beaches within easy walking distance where snokelling and sunbathing are the main activities.
The Cavos Bay is situated on the edge of the Aegean and sitting on the verandah of the cocktail bar, watching the sun setting into the Aegean is just idyllic.
The hotel is friendly and clean with a lovely pool set in a peaceful sun terrace. The breakfasts are good but they don't do lunches or evening meals. However Armenistis has many super, inexpensive tavernas and two great coffee shops.

The positives are that Ikaria is a beautiful island and this hotel is situated on the sea with a great view. It's also within walking location to some little shops, car rental/travel agencies and a few restaurants.

Our stay at this hotel was not impressive. Out of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Greece, this was one of our least favorites. The rooms are dated, but okay. There is a sign in the rooms that if you use the air conditioner there is an extra charge. We used our ceiling fan instead, which was fine with the cooler temps, and it was only slightly louder than a jet engine.

They offer a breakfast buffet that consists of olives, tomatoes and cucumbers, ham slices, Gouda slices, a few assorted breads, a bowl of jam, honey, breakfast cake, and some boiled eggs - which I would stay away from, I suspect they put the same ones out that weren't eaten the next day. I'm not sure if this is the normal spread since we were visiting during the end of the season. After one experience with this food, we decided it's best to eat elsewhere (free isn't always a good deal).

We didn't have much in the way of service, there usually wasn't anyone in site that worked for the hotel for almost our entire stay. There is a phone at the front desk that you can call to get in touch with someone, but we were never able to reach anyone, the phone just rang.

If we find ourselves in Ikaria again we'd look into staying in a Pension (there are many in the area) and check into Nas and the other villages more. We rented a car which is a must do to explore the island (as long as you're okay with dirt roads and unmarked areas...it's an adventure!).

We ate at an excellent tavern in Nas, Anna's, which I'd highly recommend.

Overall a good stay on a great island, just an average (or slightly below) hotel.
