We (my husband and two boys--15 & 8) booked a day trip to Thorsmork with Logi. We met him in the parking lot of Selandjfoss and just hopped into his super jeep and let him take us away. We made several stops each time Logi said OK let's take a little hike...he explained what we where seeing, he never rushed us through any of the stops. The scenery was magnificent. Just when we thought we where heading back to the parking lot Logi pulled over once again, we all hopped out but, this time he handed us helmets! We proceeded to walk behind a wall of rocks and was faced with a water fall, but that's not all...there was another hidden waterfall that you had to cross the brook and scale the side of the rocks to get to the other side to see the waterfall..unbelievable..it was quite a surprise. This is a tour that you would never be able to do with a regualr car. I highly recommend Logi and Into The Wild. You can not go wrong with any tour in Iceland...a truly remarkable place.
What an amazing, unforgettable experience!
We had 3 nights in Reykjavik and were hoping to see the Northern Lights, there are soooo many tours and trips available over there and it was difficult deciding whether to go on a bus tour or a jeep....we eventually decided on jeep as there were 5 of us and we preferred a more personal tour. There are a few jeep tour operators so I phoned them all, not only were Into The Wild the cheapest but they were also very friendly and went out of their way to send information and were extremely helpful.
After phoning back at 5...just to make sure the forecast was right to see the lights...Logi picked us up at 9pm to start the tour. We were all made to feel very welcome and Logi chatted to us like an old friend - sharing experiences and knowledge of Iceland with us, it was very interesting.
Logi was very knowledgeable about the lights and explained it all to us as we searched...stopped....waited....moved on - he knew exactly what to look for and where - we were loosing hope at midnight due to changes in weather but Logi continued to search and Lo and Behold we were very lucky to see them...Logi parked up, saw them coming before we saw anything then told us to get out and watch...he gave us some hot chocolate and took photos for us (you need a digital SLR, phone and normal cameras don't work - need ISO3200 and F2.8 shutter speed)...
It was a once in a lifetime experience and we are so grateful - if we'd have been on the bus we wouldn't have been able to get to where we were taken and wouldn't have had the same experience...it is most definitely worth spending the extra money for the jeep.
Logi emailed all the photos to me once we returned.
Fantastic customer service, very professional and highly recommended
Three of us traveled with Logi for three days, on the South Coast, and it was the best decision we made.
We visited the Golden Circle; Eyjafjallajökull area and Black Coast, Jökulsárlón and Skaftafell National park, with a completely experienced guide and trustworthy driver, which is saying a lot considering the challenges arising from driving in winter time in Iceland.
The tour was fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of it. Logi was an excellent and very knowledgeable guide. He made sure to drive us to all the places we and he planned, however, always allowing us to do the tour at our own pace. I must say that driving through the wilderness and quietness of Thorsmork is something I will never forget.
It was a great pleasure to spend those days seeing places that you can only access in one of these vehicles, making it an even more special and unique experience and in the company of someone so calm, nice, professional, knowledgeable of the country, and willing to make our trip memorable, which he did, including giving us tips to enjoy other experiences we wanted in Reykjavik.
I cannot recommend Logi and “Into the Wild” enough for anyone wanting to get the most out of your stay in Iceland, avoid the crowds, and just breathe in the scenic routes.
Thank you so much, Logi, for making our trip memorable.
We had the most amazing day trip yesterday with Into The Wild. We got to see all of the major sights on the Golden Circle but we were able to do this at our leisure. The best part of our day was travelling up to the highlands, the roads were covered in snow which made for a bumpy and fun drive, we then stopped (about 500m up) and played in the snow for an hour. Fantastic day, fantastic guide! Will definitely be booking again next time we are in Iceland. Thanks for an unforgettable day!
Logi was awesome! He was perfectly on time in his bad-a*s vehicle and was super knowledgable and friendly. Eight hours is a long day to be in a vehicle with someone you've never met but Logi felt like a familiar soul. He was perfectly patient with all our questions and picture taking. And we did a lot of both. He even adapted our adventure to accommodate our request to take a picture at Bobby Fischer's grave. I booked Into the Wild because of all the great reviews, but once we were on our way I saw many other tour operators doing their thing and knew with 100% confidence that we'd make the right choice. Because Logi runs a small operation, he's got a lot of (figurative) manueverability. He knew where to go and when to be at least a little ahead of the crowds. His driving was spectacular. I can't recommend him and Into the Wild enough. When I return to Iceland, which I will, I am definitely booking another tour with Logi.
If the price is at all an issue, consider that a small, flexible tour with a great guide is worth the extra. If you're making your way all the way to Iceland, don't skimp on an adventure like this. My sister and I had a day we will never forget!
We booked Logi for the Golden Circle tour and we're not disappointed - he adapted our route and itinerary to ensure we had the best weather and avoided the crowds at all the major sights. He was full of fascinating information about Iceland, it's geography, culture and history, as well as having a great sense of humour and adventure - off-roading through mountains of snow was pretty exhilarating! The jeep is very comfortable and gets you to places that a car or a tour bus just won't - the Icelandic Highlands took our breath away and we had them all to ourselves. As an added bonus, on the way back to Reykjavik Logi abd hus amazing jeep even rescued a minibus full of tourists from a ditch!
We liked Logi so much that when, the following day, it became obvious that there was a small chance of seeing the Northern Lights we knew he would be the guy to find them for us. Far away from the city with an already stunning skyscape above us, they emerged - the show was the most magical thing I have ever seen and we will never ever forget such a special experience. Our rubbish cameras were unable to capture it but Logi again came to the rescue and took beautiful photos for us, including of us with the lights in the background. And then brought out hot chocolate and ginger biscuits to keep us warm!
We were only in Iceland for 3.5 days and thanks to Logi we ticked off our entire list, but in a way we never could have hoped for! Can't recommend him enough and I would book him again in a second if I were to come back (which I would love to do one summer).
