we spent 2 wonderful nights here. Lovely rooms, great bathrooms. Dinner to die for
It was nice to be able to sit in the garden, make a snack in the guests pantry area or sit in the formal lounge. the dining room was glamorous.
We were very well cared for and we will be back . It would be a nice place to bring the kids sarah

Room Tip: Amazing double rooms and some good options for those with kids

We were a group of three keen cyclists visitng in early July, 2011, looking ot explore the Pyrenees during the Tour De France. From the moment we arrived our hosts did everything possible to meet our every need and ensure we had a wonderful and relaxing stay - a great mix of being available when we required, but leaving us to do our own thing as and when we wanted to explore.
The building, grounds and rooms were all beautifal and immaculate, we understand restored by hand keeping many of the original features. We would recommend dining within the Chateau, as Heather's home-cooked food is delicious and great value. Plus Russ knows a thing or two about a bottle of wine ....
Very accomodating for cyclists with storgae available and within easy reach of the mountains.
Overall, exceeding our expectations and we look forward to visiting again in 2012!

Thanks,
Sam, Adam and Dom

What a a gem of a family holiday "HOTEL". A surerbly restored house with excellent facilities for all ages ( toys for the young, a bar for the less young ). Dinner is so good you look forward to the next one. Easy access to,walking, cycling, (skiing in winter), visiting Luchon, Lourdes, over the mountain to Spain or just driving and taking in the mountain views and air with maybe a pancake for lunch at the top of the Peyresourde. Thank you Russell. Heather and the boys - WE SHALL BE BACK.

Stayed here with two friends as a base for doing some riding in the Pyrennees. Heather and Russell were wonderful hosts, always helpful and good fun to be around. It was a real bonus that Heather cooked wonderful meals every evening -as we were too tired to move!!
We had a a great stay in friendly, comfortable surroundings -way better than a French hotel at comparable cost. Wonderful.

Our first week abroad in a B&B/hotel with our two year old son was made so much easier by the warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere at this lovely home of Heather and Russell. Kids meals at 5.30pm were a godsend as were the other child friendly touches and helpful advice that were on tap. Lovely adult food and wine too. We stayed in a family suite which was as comfortably grand as in the pictures and gave us the lots of space to relax. Luchon and around very beautiful too and well worth a visit.

La Lanette wiped away any worries about going on a snow holiday with a toddler. They supplied everything we needed, we didn't even have to bring toys (they have a very extensive range of childens toys). We just had to travel with our clothes and snow gear. Almost like before we were parents! Heather answered all my questions before we set off, which meant the holiday had a smooth start. We were able to find the place using only the most basic of maps, despite my leaving the directions on the dining table at home - clearly the directions were simple enough for me to remember, and the place easy to find.

I can't really praise the venue or Heather, Russell and their lovely boys enough. We have already reccommended them to friends and colleagues. As soon as we were home we were trying to figure out when we could get back - which is unusual for us.

The food was fabulous, Heather is a brilliant cook, her tarte tatin is something else! Breakfast more than enough to sustain us through a morning of snowboarding. The toddler meals, hit the spot exactly, and it was lovely that all the children could eat together in the evening.

The chateau has been restored with evident love. Our room (the yellow one on the website) was very spacious, even with a cot, great bathroom, and we had the luxury of leaving our son to sleep upstairs whilst eating and socialising downstairs without any worries (baby monitor provided).

On a snow front, we had excellant day care at Peyragoudes (pay by the hour, we did half days), great ski station with good snow coverage.

Brilliant holiday, the next has a lot to live up to.
