“friendly and nice stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014

Our overall experience was very good. The hotel is at a peaceful location. The main market and Dalai Lama Temple is at a walk able distance (roughly 10 minutes). Hotel staff was very helpful. We were very much impressed with there services. They celebrated our anniversary and that was an awesome surprise.Room condition was good. Food offered by them was very good and tasty. We would recommend this hotel. Things they can work on is 24/7 hot water, complimentary mineral water should be provided in the room, Bed should have back rest.

Room Tip: superior delux room

We flew from NYC to Amritsar and then drove to Mcleod. The almost 4 hour drive was beautiful and very thrilling as our driver drove on the narrow roads going uphill. I was a nervous wreck by the time we arrive to the hotel and to my surprise everything changed the moment I was welcomed by the doorman.

Staff was friendly and very professional. The hotel is small but this is what makes it great. The staff knows you and is accommodating. The views… Incredible, completely breath-taking. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only recommendation is more pillows on the bed and a few extra towels wouldn’t hurt for someone staying more than 2 nights will be fabulous.

The restaurant is very good. Everything was tasty and fresh. Breakfast is a must in this hotel you will not regret eating in their facilities. I went to a few restaurants in town including the very famous Mcllod Restaurant and honestly I was not impressed. Our food and waiter were terrible, will not recommend it to anyone.

Traveling in India for making stops in Agra, New Dehli, and Amritsar, Bella Heights made the highlight of my trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a premier view, which has a view to the front and a balcony were you can sit and enjoy the v...

My parents were planning to visit Mcleodganj and i was very nervous regarding their trip as i wanted to make sure that everything was in place for them.I chose Bella Heights for their accommodation based on the reviews on trip advisor and i was not dissappointed.Though there was some slip up regarding the pick up i had arranged for my parents but Mr.Prateek made sure that that there was no more slip ups after that.He was very very helpful and kept me informed regarding my parents,he took care of all their needs. My parents are now back from the trip and they cannot stop raving about the staff who took really good care of them.Well thank you so much to everyone at Bella Heights for making this journey a totally memorable one for my parents.

P.S.It would be great if u guys have some power back up as i believe there were a lot of power cuts.

High Points –
1)The hotel is valley facing and is at a peaceful location.
- The main market square is at a walkable distance (roughly 10 minutes).
-The Dalai Lama temple is also very close.
- From the main market square, one can walk up to Bhagsunag temple and the waterfall beyond that. The walk is an experience.
- Even St.John’s church is just a kilometre away from the main square.
- However, to go to Dal lake and the Naddi point, one has to take a transport from the main market square hence, taking a taxi for a day might be unreasonable when all the places are at a close proximity.
2)Since it is a pretty new hotel, the rooms are in excellent conditions.
3)Good staff, they never say a “No”, they try to accommodate your requests to best of their abilities.
4)There “The Tree House” restaurant is a roof top restaurant. It offers you a good view of the valley and the mountains. You can laze there at any hour of the day . They offer a good proportion of the food ordered, which is tasty as well. They never hesitate, if they can, to provide you with a dish which is not listed in the menu.

Low Points –
1)WiFi-
- Only available on the ground, 1st, 3rd and 4th floor.
- The signal strength is also weak on the 1st & 3rd floor.
- This is primarily because they have placed the routers on the ground floor and 4th floor only.
- Subsequently, the rooms on the 2nd floor don’t have the access to WiFi as mentioned in the hotel website.
- They lack enough manpower and need more training to act as per the situation. Management could train the staff to proactively attend to guests request than wait for guests to chase it up instead. For Eg :
They forget to give complimentary mineral water bottles; one has to remind them.
Considering that Mcleodganj is a hill station, we were conscious of the fact that we might experience some amount of power issues, however what caught us by surprise is that few rooms in the hotel had power supply and few didn’t .And the most disappointing aspect was when we gave a reminder to fix up the issue and still it wasn’t resolved. It required some chase up and jolt for the hotel staff to act and resolve it.

Points to Remember –
1)Try and take super deluxe rooms instead of deluxe rooms; and if budget permits take premium rooms. Both( Premium & Super Premium) these rooms are valley facing. However super deluxe rooms are 1/3rd the size of premium rooms.
Super deluxe rooms are – 102,202,302
Premium rooms are -101, 201, 301
2)Choosing a hotel near Main Market Square or Bhagsu Temple will result in staying in a bit hustle bustle area.
3)You can explore some authentic Tibet cuisine at a place called Hotel Tibet at the main market square.

Overall I would recommend this hotel and is best as far as location is concerned. Few points here and there are too trivial to not to choose this hotel. Irrespective of the few not so good experience that we had, the management compensated it well with their friendly and humble gestures. And since this is a pretty new hotel, I am confident that they will come up the curve and the management will take this feedback well, to improve further and make it one of the best places to stay in Mcleodganj.

Room Tip: Try and take super deluxe rooms instead of deluxe rooms; and if budget permits take premium rooms. B...

Thanks for the Review , Bella Heights hotel and staff welcomes such reviews , We all appreciate and thank for such a lovely review , We have note your concern and already acted on it, The Wifi is now working on all floors , We have removed the earlier service provider BSNL and taken a new Private player , Yes we agree there was a power problem in whole of Mcleodganj , because of extreme cold , and whole of Mcleodganj was facing problem , power comes in three phases and distributed Equally on floors or rooms as per load , There was a phase problem from the electricity Department controlling different phases, Himachal does not have Electricity Problem , yes the load increased , Hence there was a supply issue, Rest we assure that rest of the issues will be taken care , Bella staff thanks you for the lovely review , and appreciate the fact that this review helps us to re-look at the shortcomings. Thanks once again

Bella Heights is an exemplary example of service and hospitality. The staff all so warm, courteous and helpful. I would not say that the rooms or the location were the best, but it is the personal touch to their services, what gives them an edge. I don't think any other Hotel will allow you to have a private party on their roof top restaurant at no extra cost at all.

We were a group of 5 friends and stayed there for 2 days. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay right from the moment we stepped in. The staff was very helpful and open to feedback. The breakfast (which was a part of our CP plan) was sumptuous and very tasty. Rooms were comfortable, cozy and bright. You must try to book valley facing rooms. Nevertheless there roof-top cafe and restaurant is valley facing and you could spend your entire day sitting there lazing around.

However the food here is quiet good, I would also suggest that one should have meals at the small cafes by the roadside...they serve awesome tibetan and himachali food...

There are lots of pluses and a few minuses about staying here. The walk to the main market and square is very steep and strenuous...our room did not have a dressing table or mirror. Cleanliness can be improved.

But to sum it we completely loved our stay here and I would definitely be here on my next visit to M Ganj...We booked one super deluxe and one deluxe for 5 people.

Room Tip: Book valley facing room....

Best place to stay at Mcleod ganj. Reached at 10:30 in night... without prior reservation. ..had just informed the staff around 7:30 telephonically that we shall be reaching late.... But the staff was so warm and welcoming that we were overwhelmed. ..When we reached they had our dinner ready(on request of course).
Key points:
Hospitality: Excellent
Food: Good
Service: Awesome
Room: Good (premium category)
View: Best in Mcleod ganj
Major highlights: huge private sit out; terrace cafe
ROOM TIP: Room 301 had best view and size(premium category)
Worth mentioning: EACH AND EVERY MEMBER OF STAFF WAS EXTREMELY COURTEOUS AND WARM....
A big thanks to you guys for a wonderful and comfortable stay...

I went to this hotel in 3rd week of Oct'13. After so many confusions in mind we finally ended up entering this wonderful place called "Bella Heights". You will start loving this place as you enter it.

Why you should stay in this hotel ? Just to keep it short :
a) Locality : It is very near to the main market and it is facing the b'ful hills.
b) Food : Awesome food with amazing roof top dining area.
c) Staff : Very friendly and polite.
d) Rooms (Super deluxe or Premium) : Amazing view from the private balconies.
e) Price : If you are a good property lover you will not find it overpriced. Whatever they charge, its worth spending.

Cheers to Bella Heights. Specially Pushpendra, Sumit and Rahul :))

Room Tip: Choose the super deluxe rooms i.e. Room number 102,202,302 and 402. If you want to spend more you ca...
