After a long bus journey from New delhi to Mcleodganj, we landed at the hotel at around 8 in the morning. When our cab reached the hotel, the first thing that struck us was that it looked more like a big house or a bungalow rather than a hotel. We received a very warm welcome from the hotel staff.
We took the middle category room, with the balcony facing the valley (Golden Fish). The view, though not very enchanting, seemed better than any of the other hotels could offer. The rooms are not very spacious, but very comfortable and clean. The Bathroom is spic and span and maintained well by the housekeeping. The breakfast menu is too good, with some local homemade breads and jams. Do try their honey ginger tea. However, do not expect an elaborate menu as the place has very limited north Indian options. But then, Mcleodganj is a foodie's delight, with some lip smacking Italian and Tibetan food. You can easily walk to the nearby restaurants in the market and enjoy a variety of eating options
The highlight of the place is that it is a little away from the main market area, which is about a 10 minutes of steep walk. This of course serves in its favor, as it is more peaceful in comparison to other accommodations available. We almost walked to all popular destinations; Bhagsu falls, The Church, lake etc. Do not miss the Shiva's cafe, a trek en route to Bhagsu falls, where they serve hot Maggi and tea while you dip your legs in the falls and enjoy the beautiful view
All in all, I loved the hotel for its very warm and friendly staff and cosy rooms. Definitely a place to stay if you visit Mcleodganj
