I'm really not sure how to classify Silk Cotton - it's better than a hostel, worse than a hotel, and definitely not a "resort" by any stretch of imagination. Let me try and describe it: SCR comprises a bunch of "cottages", which are large and clean, but very basic in their amenities. There is a tiny, pointless swimming pool, unless you don't actually like to swim and only like to sit by the poolside. Landscaping is conspicuously absent, and the whole places looks yellow-brown (sand/ mud) rather than a preferable green. Breakfast, while limited in choice, was acceptable, but there isn't any option for other meals. Service is a bit of nightmare - right from trying to confirm a booking given that it's almost impossible to elicit a response from the owner, to trying to get help with small needs since it seems to be run by a skeletal staff.
I checked out after 2 days and moved a place twice as expensive, and felt the latter was significantly better value-for-money than SCR was. SCR is just a nicer version of a hostel, so if that's what you're looking for, it might work well for you. But don't go here expecting a "resort". Overall, not recommended.
