“Nice Resort But poor Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

we were two friends. We planned to stay in Silk cotton resort for two days and one night. We were welcome very nice. Rooms were quite big and spacious bed was very comfortable. Rooms were neat and clean with mini bar refrigerator with some soft and hard drinks and some snaks. Also there was coffee maker but u cant expect to make a good coffee as milk pouch were very small. Its purely bed and breakfast resort so dont expect dinner and lunch. If u want to have u have to walk 20 mins to bogmalo beach. Or you can wait for buses to drop u to the beach. Only thing that dissaponited us was Morning Breakfast... Lady Chef doesn't asks u for what you want in Breakfast she just brings whatever she likes. Coffee sucks ... and toast were over baked. Otherwise its nice resort with pool ... Enjoy!

Very nice place with large and well furnished bedrooms. Nice swimming pool. We have not been disturbed by the planes during the night and during afternoon it was really fine (only take off not landing). 20 minutes walk from the beach where there are restaurants, road has lights when dark. Free airport transfer and we were there in less than 10 minutes. Provided cold breakfast in our bedroom fridge as we were departing very early. A perfect place for arriving and surmounting jet lag or departing from Goa. Nice place to stay as well as a hub in Goa. Great experience, thank you very much.

This is the second time that I have stayed with my wife at the Silk Cotton Resort. The first time was amazing and its been a year since and the feeling of my stay this time around as well is equally good.

Quiet and comfortable surroundings, well kept rooms, a small swimming pool, lovely playful dogs are some of the highlights of this venue. The excellent room service by the inhouse staff also makes you feel welcome here.

The Bogmallo Beach is around a 8-9 minute walk from here or you always have the option of renting a motorbike or an Activa scooter by calling the reception.

The only problem that you may encounter is the fact that they do not cater for lunch and dinner here. You will have to make it to the nearest shack at Bogmallo for this. But they do serve breakfast on a daily basis as per your requirements.

Am sure any back packer will love the stay here. Definitely recommended by me and my wife.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good and well kept.

Well let me tell you my experience about the much needed break off from the daily chores were awesome.
This place is little heard by travel goers but an exact location serving peace and tranquility. Close proximity to the airport, and easily accessible to most of the beaches by car, Silk Cotton Resort is just a place to be in to relax and be prepared for outdoor activities.
It is a 15 minute walk to the Bogmalo beach; the rooms are big enough for a couple as well as family. The garden is full of lovely flowers and the swimming pool is quite big but not deep, much to be used.
Breakfast is awesome n healthy and plenty of books for the relaxed traveler. Place is well maintained by Amrita and will even offer you tips on places to visit. Complimentary Airport transfers are included and even a drop to the Bogmalo beach if possible.
Uttorda, Majorda and Velsaum beaches are a 20 min drive from here. Uttorda is a beach you can’t miss with its pristine white sands and chilled out surroundings and beach shack. Definitely worth a visit. Silk Cotton gets our 5 Stars !!!!!

We stayed at this resort in March 2012. It is a small, nice resort with spacious, very well maintained & tastefully done rooms. The toilets are very neat & clean. The Open to sky shower area is a great asset. One can look forward to spend some leisure time here. It is a treat for the book lovers, as the owner has made it a point to have sufficient collection of novels in each room & even on a rack on the lovely terrace, where you can have your breakfast.

There were a few limitations too. To avail a conveyance from here is not easy as it is a complete residential area ...you need to walk down & wait for the local bus service(which is every 1/2 an hour) or depend on the owner to arrange for a cab. Secondly, there is no facility for lunch or dinner at the premises or even near by. This was a major issue with us as we were traveling with our kids.
Third, the airport being too near, the flights taking off & landing are heard quite clearly & might become an issue too.

Room Tip: Have Rooms with outdoor shower

I visited Goa in October 2010 (review comes a bit late, sorry), and i have nothing but good things to say about Silk Cotton. Well, when the owner is gracious enough to drive you down to the beach AND the nearest market what else can you say. Apart from the spotless rooms, tastefully done interiors, outdoor shower (it is helpful, take my word for it!), brilliant breakfast and a lovely pool, it is a pet lover's paradise. The owners Amrita and Aman own two dogs and if you intend to travel with your pet you will be more than welcome. The resort is located close enough to the airport but away from the din. It is a short walk away from the Bogmallo beach which is one of the more beautiful beaches you will find here. Apart from that there are other places around the resort which are of great tourist interest and Amrita is kind enough to give you proper directions to these. They've opened up an extension of their home to us and the service provided is nothing but great.
