My husband and I were in Santa Catalina for a dive trip. My husband is a serious bird photographer and Lab Associate with Cornell's Ornithology Laboratory and he made inquiries about getting a guide to help us locate some of the endemics on Coiba. Javier was hands down the #1 referred person in the area for bird guiding. Lucky for us, Javier was able to go with us on short notice and he was able to arrange our boat transportation over and back to Coiba for the day. It was an interesting and productive trip. My husband got lots of photographs including the endemic Coiba Spinetail. Javier was a joy to be with, a very nice person who tries very hard to find the birds on your list as well as make for a pleasant day just being with him. He has lots of local knowledge and happily shares it with you about Coiba and the Santa Catalina. We were lucky to meet such a nice knowledgeable person!. He has been guiding groups out to Coiba for more than a decade! Jav
