“Best place to stay on Estero Beach”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

I can't say enough good things about Rancho Estero. It has the most beautiful view of Estero Beach, along with direct access to the beach. You can hang in a hammock, relax in the shade, take a nap in your palm frond cabana, or head out to the water for some surf.

Rancho Estero offers a very relaxed atmosphere. The managers (Rose and Michael), are incredibly gracious, and helpful hosts. The cabanas and shared bathhouse are perfectly simple and clean, the shared outdoor kitchen lends itself to meeting interesting people from all around the world, while you cook up the most deliciously fresh food

This was my second trip back, and can only hope it will not be my last.

Great location overlooking the main beach. Rooms very basic with shared bathroom. The girl is very helpful, the guy that works there not so much....

Paul who was also working there was very helpful though.

Bikes or some sort of transport to get into town would be really helpful as there is no food available at Rancho. Most of the fridge space is strangely reserved for the owners. I felt like i was intruding more than being a guest some of the time.

This place has a great view and a beautiful garden that is well looked after and the whole place is very nice lit by night. There is also a well equipped outdoor kitchen.
We could reach the beach in less than a minute, to the point - wave its about a 10mins walk.
We stayed in the dorm which has double beds so we could share one bed.
The toilets are clean and showers are good, there is hot water.
Overall very relaxed and chilled out vibe. Would definitely go back there.

Rancho Estero is a great place to stay at in Santa Catalina. The cabins are simple but cozy, and the view is unbelievable - overlooking the beautiful Estero beach. It's perfectly located and the surfing is amazing. You can rent surfboards or take a surflesson. If you want, you can cook your own food and the staffmembers are friendly, so I would definitely recommend this place!

This is the perfect spot to stay in Santa catalina. The cabanas are charming and clean, priced very affordably, and the staff are fantastic. I did not have the opportunity to meet the couple who runs rancho estero, but Angel and Ben were amazing hosts and were always available for questions or to give suggestions. The views are amazing and the sundeck is the perfect spot to chill out after a long day on the ocean. I wouldn't stay anywhere else kn Santa catalina!!

We stayed in the bamboo cabin with sea view, very idyllic! Only $35,- a night, with shared (clean!) showers and toilets at the entrance of the ranch. Easy going atmosphere, lovely Dutch host, surfboards for rent. We could only stay a night as it was fully booked, but would have loved to stay longer. If you like to have some groceries or beer to put in the communal fridge, make sure you buy it at the big supermarkets on the Pan Am highway (2 hour drive), as there is only a tiny supermarket in town. But enough places to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner (Jammin' pizza place is gooood).

Room Tip: If you are lucky you get the cabin with fantastic seaview (other have a nice view as well)
