We had a wonderful week in Helen’s gite. It was very comfortable- a real home away from home with everything you could need including a lovely welcome hamper and English satellite TV. The village of Bligny sur Ouche was charming and ideal as a base to explore Burgundy by car. There was a good bakery in town, a decent supermarket and a village market on Wednesday. Helen always responded quickly through TripAdvisor and her thoughtful touches were appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation- thanks Helen.
This house was an amazing find and in a perfect location to explore Beaune and the region of Burgundy. The hostess was there to greet us and made us feel very welcome, answering questions and showing us around. The house is very well equipped with everything you need and is exactly as advertised. We enjoyed our time there and will certainly stay again on a future vacation. Thank you Helen.
We stayed here last year and liked it so much we made a point of coming again this year. We had been in France for 6 weeks but booked here to round the trip off as we knew what to expect. Somehow Helen has made the house feel like you have "come home". It is very clean and comfortable, the bedrooms spacious the main one with a walk in wardrobe, the bathroom has a bath and shower. The village of Bligny Sur Ouch is small and very French, but has everything that you need, with a well stocked supermarket a five minute drive away, a restaurant and two bars - and you can walk down the road in the mornings to buy your baguettes. Helen is really helpful, and there is a great welcome pack with everything that you need, including a bottle of wine! If you drive into Dijon along the back roads, you drive through all the various and well known Vineyards. I have read the previous reviews and totally agree with everything that has been said. We actually love to sit out on the terrace in the evenings and nod/speak to the locals as they go by. Although we don't really plan on going to this part of France next year, we will probably try to book in for a week on our way home.
Helen is a generous host. She welcomed us with a basket of treats, including wine, bread and cheese. The house is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is perfectly positioned with sun all day and we were able to park right outside. Just be aware of the low ceiling from the kitchen to the living area. The bakery is excellent and the Wednesday morning market has all the stalls you need to buy fresh produce. One of the reasons we chose Les Rosiers was to dine at Ferme de La Ruchotte, lunch only on weekends, for a true farm experience. It was special to be part of a small village for a week, especially the lovely long days with sunset at 10:15pm.
The village is well located being in the heart of wine country which Burgundy surely is. Plenty to do and go see and / or taste nearby. A comfy house which is well appointed.
We had a great stay at Helen's cottage. The arrival was smooth and the welcome basket was very appreciated. The cottage is located in a perfect French village with a Tabac, cafe and an excellent boulangerie.
We spent 8 nights here. Cycling and hiking. Lots of trails and peaceful roads to cycle.
The cottage had everything we could ask for-2 toilets too. Wifi was excellent and the parking very convenient. The cottage has a little sit out for an evening glass of wine.
We hope to come back again. Thanks helen
This is a beautiful home in a beautiful village. It's spacious and well appointed. Unlike some places we've stayed in, the kitchen had plenty of appliances. The kitchen/dining room is spacious and the living area is huge. There is a sitting area outside - which is ideal for a glass of wine and some cheese, or for eating your dinner. The bedrooms are big and so is the bathroom. I highly recommend Les Rosiers.
